US apparel imports have collapsed in May, as a result of the lockdown imposed by many countries and by a series of US states. Vietnam has become the largest supplier in value terms over the January-May period, whereas Bangladesh has also benefited from China's setback. Our report covers US apparel imports on a monthly basis, comparing shipments from most origins in the last month and the year-to-date. Import data are available in volume, value, and unit value terms. Historical trends are analyzed over the 2000-2020 period, including cotton vs. man-made fiber apparel, and China vs. Vietnam and the Rest of the World (RoW).

Polyester Chain Prices: PX, PTA, MEG and Fiber Prices (Weekly Report)

Polyester intermediate prices have remained firm in the last week in the Far East, whatever the current jump in inventory levels at every stage of the polyester chain. Operating rates have been kept at high levels in the last months in China, while imports were falling. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)

A fall in expected US cotton output in the coming season has boosted cotton futures in New York, whatever the currently low level in the textile production worldwide. Brazilian exports have been depressed by a Chinese shift to US fibers, whereas demand from Turkey and Vietnam has remained strong in the past months, as reflected by our new export tables. Our weekly cotton report covers the futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". Domestic cotton prices in China, India, Pakistan, and Brazil are also reviewed through a large number of tables and charts. All data are available for download.

UK Clothing Imports in 1st Quarter 2020: Origins (Quarterly Report)

UK's apparel imports have dropped significantly in the first quarter in volume terms, as unit values were surging in the meantime. Bangladesh has become the largest supplier to the detriment of a retreating China, especially in woven clothing categories. Imports of T-shirts have surged, whereas shipments of woven shirts were plummeting. Our new quarterly report covers UK's clothing imports per origin, including knit clothing, woven clothing, and total clothing imports. Data are released in volume, and in British pounds. All data are available for download in five different CSV files.
