A fantastic opportunity has arisen for procurement professionals with an engineering or scientific background to be part of a new and exciting satellite data processing project at Europes prestigious Meteorological Satellite Agency. The procurement phase of the EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation EPSSG satellite programme is shortly to commence and we have openings for candidates who are keen to play a leading role in the procurement of the data processors and product generation functions. Candidates shall have experience in the specification, design, implementation, integration and test, verification and validation of payload data ground processing preferably in the field of Meteorology andor Earth Observationremote sensing. Experience in general procurement activities such as interfacing with industrial contractors and production of Statement of Work documents is required, preferably within the field of payload data ground processing. Applicants will also have experience in near real time, highly available, multiinstruments related ground data processing systems along with experience working in a formal environment following methodologies, standards and processes such as configuration control. All candidates require a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline or comparable qualifications in an operational Data Processing field. The working language for this position is English, therefore candidates must be fluent in this language, both spoken and written. A working knowledge of French would be advantageous. Please note that all applicants must be nationals from a EUMETSAT member state.

RHEA is currently recruiting an EPSSG Onground Instrument Data Processing Engineer to support the area of onground instrument data processing engineering at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Following up the definition and development of the onground instrument data processing specifications e.g. algorithms and product formats Following up the development of the onground instrument data processing systems, test tools and test data Following up the verification, integration and acceptance of the onground instrument data processing elements Supporting the validation of data processing algorithms and products Participating in reviews, verification and testing of onground instrument data processors against appropriate versions of requirements, specifications and reference processors Supporting System engineering activities in collaboration with EPSSG System and Ground segment teams Supporting interactions with space segment teams and analysis of instrumentrelated documentation as far as relevant for data processing Participate in formal reviews and technical meetings at system and ground segment level when relevant for instrument data processing elements Provide input for support preparation of documentation for system and ground segment level reviews in relevant areas. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree in the domain of engineering, science, or equivalent At least 3 years of experience in engineering of onground data processing elements for spaceborne observing imaging andor sounding systems. The following skills would be highly desirable Experience in verifying onground instrument data processing systems Experience in development of test data sets and processor prototypes Knowledge of relevant spaceborne observation instruments EPSSG satellites will embark sounders and imagers from the ultraviolet to the microwave range, a scatterometer and a radiooccultation instrument Experience in specification of operational products for earth observation missions.
