ResponsibilitiesDuties Certification as a Spacecraft Controller for the GEO Spacon Team Commanding and control of missions as assigned to the team Support the LEOP, Commissioning and IOT phases in a 24X7 shift team Monitoring of the health status of all satellites components Levell response to anomalies, based on procedures Maintaining a console log for all shift activities Support to test, simulation campaigns Support procedure and other OPS document writingupdate Activation of engineering support if required User Help Desk first Response Work is delivered mostly in 16X5 shift team in rotating shifts but you must be willing to work in nights too if requested Regular Oncall support QualificationsExperience Good educational background in Aerospace not necessary, in case of many years of relevant experience At least 2 years of experience in any domain of Spacecraft or Ground Segment operations Security clearance might be requested up to level Secret based on customer requirement. Citizenship of any country of EU or legal stay in EU for longer than 5 years is mandatory to fulfill this requirement. You have a master degree in a technical discipline, enjoy scientific computer programming under Linux and are proficient in the FORTRAN andor C language. Numerical methods for equations solving, integration of differential equations, function approximation and interpolation, optimisation, linear algebra problems. Classical mechanics, including kinematics and dynamics of point masses dynamics of rigid body, dynamics expressed in noninertial frames, conservation laws in mechanics, gravitational forces and field, orbit dynamics, keplerian orbits and Kepler laws. High sense of operational responsibility The capability to study independently complex and novel topics and to rapidly prototype SW for study purposes must be proven Software development in FORTRAN 7795 under Linux Good communication skills.

Flight Operation Plans FOP Controller mwd

A key document in all ESOC supported missions is the Flight Operations Plan FOP, which is written for each mission by the relevant mission control team. It contains detailed mission event time lines, procedures for all nominal operations, and a large number of procedures dealing with anomalous or contingency situations. The FOP is of key importance for ESOC and it is subjected to a comprehensive cycle of formal reviews and validation using various means including simulators and actual spacecraft hardware. The writing, review, validation and update process is a long term activity and it is essential that the document is maintained under configuration control at all times, throughout the mission lifetime. The EILS team currently provides a FOP support service to ESOC, including monitoring and reporting on the completion of all FOP related test and review actions, both internal to ESOC, and external with the Project and Industry. This position is based at ESOC in Darmstadt. It is fulltime and permanent and expected starting date will be around September 2019 or later. We are looking forward to meeting you!
