Position Reference 061 The Strategy and Innovation team integrates the overall ESA space exploration strategy, supports the preparation of future space exploration missions, implements actions aimed at integrating space exploration into the society and promoting global cooperation as well as develops and implements a comprehensive innovation plan for space exploration. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Implementing, in close coordination with other relevant ESA Directorates, call for ideas for commercial research and applications in Space Coordinating the endtoend implementation of commercial research and applications in Space projects selected for ESA support measures Supporting the establishment and operations of the Business in Space Growth network, established to nurture the growth of European demand for commercial research and applications in Space Supporting the selection and maturation process of partnerships aimed at establishing commercial services enabling commercial research and applications in Space Supporting ESA crossDirectorate initiatives implemented within the framework of the ESA Downstream Gateway initiative Supporting the organisation of innovation exchanges aimed at engaging new industrial or institutional actors in the ESA Space Exploration Programme, as partners, contractor or downstream users. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a Masters degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, a scientific discipline and or business administration. You have a broad knowledge of relevant industrial sectors and a minimum of 5 years working experience in a relevant nonspace sector e.g. pharma, manufacturing, biological engineering. You have a good knowledge of the European and international space exploration policies, plans and programmes. You have outstanding skills in innovation and creativity, system and broader business thinking, communication, teamwork and relationship management and customer focus. You have strong planning and organization skills and a demonstrated ability to achieve excellent results under time pressure. You have a demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary and international teams. You are able to cope with pressure and deadlines. You have excellent technical writing skills. Senior Manager, Affiliates Performance Management NBU Support Betzdorf Provides financial support to Media Platform and Product Development in the Video business unit. The support covers various steps in the SES value chain, from rate card definition, deal negotiation to planning reporting. It includes the assessment and measurement of the costs associated with the delivery of video services. Heshe also monitors the financial performance of Video related affiliates e.g. HD, MX1RRM, Yahlive and reviews related capital allocation requests. Heshe performs financial due diligence on MA opportunities and conducts postinvestment reviews. Heshe works closely with the Media Platform and Product Development teams as well as MX1, HD and finance and business development colleagues. Your Responsibilities Setsup and maintains service investment case revenues, COS, opex, capex, e.g. plays a key role in platform implementations, representing Finance in the respective project management structure and ensuring the platform is implemented within budget and business model assumptions are respected. Develops with Media Platforms Product Development rate cards for the service offerings based on 1. underlying services investment case and, 2. capacity prices from Commercial Operations. Defines and keeps track of services KPIs for internal performance measurement and external communication Acts as single point in Core Finance contact for the Media Platform Product Development team. If required, supports customer negotiations and escalation process from NBU to Core and EC as per DOA Conducts the Video related planning, reporting and analysis as required by Core. Ensures that costs for delivery of video services are assessed and measured in a systematic matter and reflected in the prices offered by SES. Works with Controlling and Business Applications to drive implementation of a product line profitability tools Monitors and controls NBU Video related affiliates performance.
