Description of the job A vacancy for a ORION ESM Contracts Manager dfm has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Bremen at the earliest possible start date. You will join Commercial Contracts team in Bremen. Orion is NASAs next spacecraft to send humans further into space than ever before, beyond the Moon and even to Mars. The European Service Module ESM is Airbus contribution to the ambitious Orion programme. The ESM provides electricity, water, oxygen and nitrogen as well as navigation and temperature control. Moreover, the Orion ESM contains one of the most complex propulsion subsystems ever built in Europe. Airbus Defence and Space builds the first human transport rated vehicle in Europe, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. For this exciting program we are searching for a lead contracts manager being responsible for the successful implementation of the contract and its changes throughout program execution. Tasks accountabilities Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Contractual processes Govern within a team all contractual elements in the program, with a focus on the customer Secure the correct implementation of the contractual rights and obligations Participation to the risk and opportunity management in cooperation with the Program Management Office Leading the price and contractual negotiations in cooperation with the technical team and the program manager Change and claims management Evaluate Customer change requests concerning the commercial impact Establish contractual change notices, including programmatic and financial documentation and claim rationale Manage the contract change workflow to assure timely, accurate submission and implementation of changes Maintain contractual change log of all implemented and pending changes and opportunities Be responsible for monitoring and identifying and contract changes throughout project execution in order to raise them with the Customer Support the Procurement Managers with regard to evaluation of major subcontractor changes Coordinate all contract changes and claims visvis the Customer by liaising with all stakeholders in the OrionESM project project management, engineering, scheduling, procurement supply chain, project control, . Manage customer relationship in conjunction with the project managers on contractual, financial and commercial matters Liaise with all stakeholders in the program on contractual change matters Develop and execute contractual, financial, negotiation and programmatic strategies for proposals and major contract changes Proactively identify contractual opportunities This role will involve frequent travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. Required skills We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to a degree level in Business Administration, Economics or Law Studies or a related discipline HighAffinity to the advanced technology of space based systems and activities Several years experience in a contracts commercial position Very good understanding and knowledge of commercial and financial aspects, supported by a sharp sense of contractual rhetoric Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams. Cultural awareness and ability to manage conflict Ability to lead negotiations to a winwin situation Work style characterized by autonomy, initiative and cooperation Good communication and interpersonal skills and social competence Creative problem solving orientation Experience with ESA and NASA, or other governmental agencies are considered advantageous Ability to communicate assertively in English is essential Apply HERE

Key Tasks and Responsibilities You will have the following responsibilities Contribute to develop, design, test, qualify, certify, support, improve subsystem, equipment, component or module during the whole project phases by ensuring the technical documents RAMS, functional description, stress and test analysis Analyse design project requirements and perform tradeoff between various design solutions for propulsion subsystem andor components Analyse any deviations during the manufacturing phase and assess its acceptability Propose improvement and RD actions within the space vehicle propulsion subsystems respective technical fields Provide sufficient detailed data and information about system elements to enable the implementation consistent with architectural entities as defined in models and views of the system architecture and in accordance with the allocated requirements Define checkpoints and reviews with associated maturity expectation aligned with program phases and gates Work closely sharing both industrial and functional design view, from the very early stages of the design through the serial production phase and up to the inservice life of the product whole product lifecycle, working in close collaboration between the Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and any other disciplines involved throughout the whole product lifecycle Understand the organization, infrastructure, constraints and limitations of program industrial planning, and global systemsproducts and their interdependencies during industrialization phase. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Min. Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering or in a related discipline Experience in mission and safety critical applications Experience in information systems, quality management, Hardware development, manufacturing, integration and testing Experience with ECOSIM, ThermXL, CATIA and Matlab are strongly appreciated Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of German or another European language is an advantage.
