A number of M&A related reports couldn't prevent the Telecompaper Stock Index European Telecoms Services from ending week 15 with a loss of 0.9%. The EuroStoxx 50 index closed the week unchanged.

(Telecompaper) The German Federal Network Agency said that EUR 5.06 billion was offered by the four bidders in the 170th round of the 5G spectrum auction. The bids for the 2.0 GHz band reached a total of EUR 2.06 billion and the bids for the 3.6 GHz band reached EUR 2.65 billion.
Dutch broadband market reaches 7.5 mln connections, EUR 2 bln revenues in 2018

(Telecompaper) The Dutch market for fixed broadband internet advanced by 1.1 percent last year to 7.5 million connections, according to Telecompaper's latest study of the broadband market. In particular, Ziggo (+51,000) and T-Mobile Netherlands (+50,000) recorded strong growth in the number of connections, offsetting declines at Tele2 Netherlands (-21,000) and KPN (-15,000). As a result of the rise in the number of broadband lines and of price increases at all providers, broadband revenue climbed 4.9 percent to EUR 2.02 billion.

Telenor enters Finland with acquisition of 54% of DNA for EUR 1.5 bln

(Telecompaper) Telenor Group said it has agreed to acquire 54 percent of the shares in the Finnish telecom operator DNA for EUR 20.90 each in cash, or a total of EUR 1.5 billion. The acquisition is through separate agreements with DNA's two largest shareholders, Finda Telecoms and PHP Holding, which own 28.3 percent and 25.8 percent respectively. Completion would trigger a mandatory public buy-out offer of the remaining DNA shares at the same price.

German 5G auction passes EUR 4 bln in bids

(Telecompaper) Vodafone accounted for EUR 1.2 billion in total bids for 11 lots, Deutsche Telekom and 1&1 made EUR 1.1 billion in top bids each for 12 and 11 lots respectively, and Telefonica Germany bid the least, at EUR 624 million in total for the 3.6 GHz and 2 GHz bands.
