Masmovil Q1 service revenues EUR 228 mln, up 17%

(Telecompaper) Spanish operator Masmovil reported service revenues of EUR 228 million in the first quarter of 2017, up 17 percent on a proforma basis from a year earlier. Recurring EBITDA more than doubled from a year earlier to EUR 45 million from EUR 20 million and the company reaffirmed its earnings guidance for full-year 2017.

Google fined EUR 2.4 bln in EU search competition case

(Telecompaper) Google has received a fine of EUR 2.42 billion from the European Commission for abusing its dominant position in the search market and favouring its own comparison shopping service over other providers. The Commission first started investigating in 2010 and in 2015 brought formal charges against Google for violating EU competition law. OnePlus 5 smartphone goes on pre-sale from EUR 499

(Telecompaper) OnePlus has unveiled its latest 'flagship killer', the OnePlus 5. This will be its most expensive smartphone yet, at EUR 499-559, depending on the selected model. While the phone comes with a wide range of top specifications, the 5.5-inch Amoled screen still is only Full HD, while other manufacturers have adopted QHD/2K. The metal casing on the new phone resembles the iPhone 7, and the OnePlus 5 also comes with a double camera on the back. The OnePlus 5 will go on sale in two weeks from the company's website.
