(Telecompaper) French pay TV operator Canal Plus will pay EUR 300 million per year during five years, or a total of EUR 1.5 billion, to pay-TV and entertainment platform beIN Media Group, in order to exclusively distribute content from the MENA sports channel, bfmtv reported. The amount is the minimum guaranteed each year by Canal Plus. If objectives are exceeded, then the company will share revenues beyond the guarantee, equally, with beIN.

Enel reveals EUR 2.5 bln fibre plan to connect 7.5 mln homes

(Telecompaper) Italian utility giant Enel has confirmed plans to invest a total of EUR 2.5 billion to help bring ultrafast broadband to around 7.5 million homes in 224 Italian cities. In a statement, the company said its newly-created Enel Open Fiber venture will take advantage of the installation of around 30 million smart electric meters over the next four years to run fibre cables into homes and offices all over Italy. Enel Open Fiber will operate as a wholesale-only player and will build infrastructure for other licensed operators, said the company, with CEO Francesco Starace adding that "installing fibre cables through our electricity network, which reaches the businesses and homes of 32 million Italians, will enable wide-ranging coverage of the country at competitive costs."
Zegona offers over EUR 500 mln for Yoigo - report

(Telecompaper) UK-based investment fund Zegona has offered over EUR 500 million for the 77 percent stake in Spanish mobile operator Yoigo owned by TeliaSonera, according to unnamed sources cited by business daily Expansion. The bid is some EUR 60-65 million higher than that offered by Spanish operator MasMovil, added the sources, after both companies responded to an invitation from TeliaSonera to bid for its controlling stake in Spain's fourth largest mobile operator.
RTL Group reports record EUR 6.03 bln revenue for 2015

(Telecompaper) European entertainment network RTL Group has reported record revenue of EUR 6.03 billion for 2015, up 3.8 percent from EUR 5.81 billion in 2014, driven by increasing revenue at Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, growing digital revenue and favourable exchange rate effects. Group revenue is well diversified with 53.7 percent from broadcast advertising (TV and radio), 22 percent from content, 8.4 percent from digital activities, 4.1 percent from platform revenue (EUR 248 million) and 11.8 percent other revenue. Reported EBITA reached a record EUR 1.17 billion in 2015, up 2 percent from EUR 1.14 billion in 2014, mainly driven by a significantly higher EBITA contribution from Germany.

Transcom reaches agreement with lenders for EUR 90 million credit...

Stockholm, 9 March 2016 Transcom WorldWide AB today announced that the company has signed a syndicated credit agreement with ING, Nordea and SEB to implement a EUR 90 million multi-currency revolving credit facility. The facility has a tenor of three years with an option to extend for one year.
