Spacecraft Operations Engineer Galileo Launch and Early Orbit Phase Operations mf The Mission The Galileo mission consists of a constellation of spacecraft and associated ground segment elements that will provide high accuracy navigation information to users worldwide. The Challenge We are looking for a spacecraft operations engineer to join the flight control team in Darmstadt, supporting the launch and early orbit phase operations for the Galileo spacecraft. In addition to background in spacecraft operations, the engineer should bring special knowledge of onboard data handling, onboard software management as well as telemetry, telecommand and communications subsystems. This is a fulltime position with a planned starting date in mid of July 2014. Your Qualifications Applicants shall have a university degree in aerospace engineering, related subject or equivalent experience. Essential skills are Good knowledge of the relevant spacecraft onboard data handling and TTC subsystems Good knowledge of OBSM configuration, operation, inputs and products Good operational experience Experience with prelaunch activities and launch campaigns Experience with the MOIS procedure management tools Ground Segment knowledge at system level Familiarity with SCOS2000 mission control system Familiarity with operational simulators Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Desirable skills are Familiarity with PC based MS tools Familiarity with the ESOC environment Experience with ground systems testing Experience dealing with external interfaces Personal skills are The ability to coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems The position requires a great deal of independence and selfmotivation.
