International Paper to sell Greensboro operation to Atlantic Corp.

Atlantic Corp. of Wilmington announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to purchase International Paper's three largest paperboard converting facilities in Greensboro, Hazleton, Pa., and Sturgis, Mich. Memphis-based International Paper has reached a definitive agreement to sell its Greensboro operation to Wilmington-based packaging firm Atlantic Corp., which plans to maintain and grow the Gate City facility at 3900 Spring Garden St. International Paper plans to also sell its paperboard converting facilities in Hazleton, Pa., and Sturgis, Mich., to Atlantic Corp. for an undisclosed price.

Shower activity associated with a low pressure area near the northwestern Bahamas has become more concentrated today, and the circulation of the low has become a little better defined. Some additional development could occur before upper-level winds become less conducive tonight. The low is expected to move generally westward across the southern Florida Peninsula into the eastern Gulf of Mexico during the next couple of days. If current trends continue, a tropical depression could form later today or tonight while the low moves toward the west-northwest and northwest at about 15 mph over the open Atlantic. * Formation chance through 48 hours...high...70 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent. Shower activity associated with a weak low pressure area near the northwestern Bahamas is currently poorly organized, and the Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter mission scheduled for today has been canceled.
