We are looking for a Support Engineer to Industrial Policy E3 to join our Modis Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. Modis Aerospace is a specialized Engineering consultancy with more than 30 years experience providing aerospace Engineers to our key partners in The Netherlands. Modis is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 120 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. General tasks to be performed Supporting the Head of Section by Contributing to the systematic building of knowledge on the industrial landscape in Europe, on the competitive environment of the European industry and on the identification of industrial opportunities critical technologies, items procured outside Europe, supply chain bottlenecks. It includes the monitoring technology developments in the concerned MS and followup on spinin studies and the collection and processing of inputs relevant data sources, ESA Programmes, the New Member States Section, the SME Office, technical experts, the TEC Harmonisation group, industry workshops and dialogue with the Primes. As country desk officer, ensuring the collection of information on the national industry incl. visit to industry and the preparation of tailored support to the MS Delegations, to ESA programmes and to industry. Supporting DG, Programmes Directorates and Member States in the preparation to Space19 on industrial policy related matters, especially with the preparation of specific inputs for bilateral meetings with Delegations Supporting the advisory role of the Section to the Member States in the development of their space activities and industry customised approach by preparing OCC reports and recommendations to Delegations, including information coming from exchange with the Programmes, the NMS section, the SME Office, technical experts, the TEC harmonisation team, industry workshops, dialogue with the Primes and spinin studies Support the improvement of analytical capabilities required for the related objectives of the Division, in particular Supporting the establishment of a data collection and exploitation strategy and its implementation considering relevant data sources, such as eros, esa star registration and tendering, new EMITS, OCC data, European productcompetence database, ESA match making tool, database of ESA experts and others Supporting the review of existing and accessible data sources and tools under development in view of their exploitation Supporting the definition and harmonisation of requirements for the exploitation of existing data sources and supporting the development of new tools and databases allowing for coherent analyses exploiting various data sources Supporting the facilitation of customised reporting for various different Industrial Policy files Improving coordination, exchange of knowledge and coordinated reporting and knowledge base with the NMS Section, the SME Office, and IPLIA To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering or Industrial Engineering. In addition a MSc in Business Administration would be an asset. Experience in space industry capability. Willingness to go on business trips approx.. 10 times a year for 23 days each. Excellent communicational skills in English. Other EU languages are considered an asset. Interviews for this role are planned to take place on 17th of June. About ESAESTEC The European Space Agency ESA has sites in several European countries. The European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC is the largest site and the technical heart of ESA. This nursery of European space activities is located in Noordwijk, Netherlands. At ESTEC, about 2500 engineers, technicians and scientists work handson with mission design, spacecraft and space technology. Almost all ESA projects except launchers are managed from ESTEC. In Noordwijk, people work on science missions, manned space missions, Earth observation, telecommunications and navigation satellites. ESTEC provides extensive testing facilities to verify the proper operation of spacecraft, such as the Large Space Simulator LSS, acoustic and electromagnetic testing bays, multiaxis vibration tables and the ESA Propulsion Laboratory EPL. Specific tasks to be performed The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance and development of software tools for managing a large number 350 of research and development activities over their whole life cycle, including Development and maintenance of TIAapplications that gather, analyse and present programmatic data associated with research and development activities contracts. Development and maintenance of new software tools according to TIA wide needs. Migration of existing applications to a common application environment.
