TASKS Maintenance of the development servers and workstations Maintenance of the development tools, such as compilers, libraries, etc Maintenance of Continuous Integration Tools and source code repositories Support of software developers in the area of system programming and interface definition Design and implementation of new software packages that are needed to support ongoing projects and which are providing common services to all users Contribution to the analysis and planning of HW and SW upgrades or reconfigurations, taking care of compatibility issues between subsystems Support to SW development and maintenance in relation to the utilization of system resources Provision of standbyoncall support if needed under special circumstances Provision of support, as required, to critical operations. The key person supports the Integration and Verification IV activities of the EPSSG Overall Ground Segment OGS. During the EPSSG OGS development, The key person will typically be involved in tasks related to the planning, preparation and execution of OGS IV activities and following up assessing IV activities performed as part of the OGS procurements. Typical tasks will include Contribute to the production of all OGS IV documents during Phase C, and their implementation in Phase D Update and maintain the OGS IV related schedule in coordination with Project Control Coordinate the IV approach with the System team to ensure coherence and completeness of the EPSSG OGS and System level approaches Follow and assess the IVV approach of all contributing elements of the OGS and ensure compatibility with the overall OGS IV Plan Establish and maintain the verification control mechanisms Ensure accurate metrics on IV progress are maintained Ensure implementation of the OGS IV plan through lower level test documentation, processes, test execution and relevant OGS reviews Attend sub segment IVV tests as observer, witnessing tests where requirements are verified Identify and support the acquisition of all necessary Test Tools and Test Data Support validation activities managed by the EPSSG System Team Report on a weekly and monthly basis to GS Management. Travel within Europe may have to be undertaken PROFILE The key person shall be able to analyse complex situations, identify critical areas and produce accurate and concise analyses and recommendations. Heshe shall be able to fulfil the assigned tasks autonomously, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks and work in a rigorous way to agreed deadlines. Heshe shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. The key person shall have the following experience, background and skills University degree in engineering e.g. space or software engineering, or equivalent At least 5 years of general experience in the field of engineering of space andor ground systems, in the area of Earth observation from space At least 3 years of involvement in the preparation andor execution of IV activities at Ground Segment level of such Systems Experience with the preparation of test plans, test specifications andor test procedures, prepared for IV of such Systems Experience of multi level verification processes and implementation Familiarity with procurement and use of Test Tools and Test Data Strong interpersonal and team working skills, flexibility, and strengths in analysis and pragmatic judgement are required Good computing skills with strong experience withability to use MS Office software Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, etc.. The following would be additional assets Proficiency in using DOORS Knowledge of systems development lifecycle Knowledge of ECSS standards. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The tasks of the key person will include Generation of data records Analysis of the data record quality employing quality monitoring procedures and other validation techniques and data as appropriate Acquisition of relevant data from internal and external sources to support product quality monitoring Support implementation, processing and validation of the product with other international partners e.g. JMA, NOAANCDC Preparation of QA4ECV data for ingestion into the EUMETSAT Data Centre Compilation of relevant data set documentation including validation reports, user guides and format descriptions Compilation of project result presentations and participation in project progress meetings.
