Job Description Excellent Salary Corporate Benefits Package Relocation Assistance if applicable Further information available from the Serco Europe Recruitment Team Main Responsibilities You will be responsible for During phase B2CDE1 Management Support to the PDGS subsystems technical officers for Preparation of the PDGS subsystems managerial documentation e.g. implementation plan Preparation of the PDGS subsystems contractual documentation e.g. SoWs Management of industries in charge of PDGS subsystems development Coordination of PDGS subsystems reviews Preparation of the PDGS SubSystems requirements documents Support to PDGS specification for the part relevant to the PDGS data processing subsystems implementation e.g. Interface Control Documents Support the acceptance by the PDGS Project of PDGS external CFIs Review of documentation from various sources ESA, Industry during the project phases dealing with subsystems implementation and testing. Participation to Ground Segment Reviews and PDGS reviews organized either by ESA or by industry Management of the review item discrepancies, system or software problem reports and action linked to PDGS SubSystems implementation contracts Generation of technical notes whenever needed during the relevant project phases Operations of the various supporting tools for the part relevant to the PDGS subsystems implementation e.g. Documentation Management System Support to the PDGS Integration and Validation and Ground Segment Validation phases addressing for the relevant PDGS subsystems Integration of the facility within the processing centre Definition of integration and validation tests Run of integration and validation tests procedures Test results analysis Test reporting Support for operators training and preparation of operational documentation for the relevant PDGS subsystems Support for definition and documentation of the PDGS Commissioning Implementation Plan and procedures for the relevant PDGS subsystems Support for the preparation of the launch and the implementation of rehearsal activities for the relevant PDGS subsystems Support for the management of PDGS Operations, system behavior monitoring and reporting during commissioning for the relevant PDGS subsystems Adhoc development of tools for the accomplishment of the PDGS subsystems engineering, testing and validation, etc. During phase E2 Support for the subsystems impact analysis of new PDGS requirements deriving from new user needs andor new operational needs Support to the PDGS subsystems specification evolution Management of industry in charge of PDGS subsystems evolution and maintenance Generation of technical notes whenever needed during the mission lifetime Successful Candidate You should have University degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in engineering or Remote Sensing Experience on ground segments implementation, in particular on Requirements specification Development of PDGS Mission Planning and Mission Monitoring subsystems System and Software anomalies management reporting, analysis, classification and resolution. Service Manager for IT Infrastructure and Support

The post holder will report directly to the Managing Director. The post holder will lead IT assigned activities, ensure program deliverables are met and the program is operationally sound while achieving KPI performance. Utilise industry project management methodologies and tools throughout program lifecycle. This position works directly onsite at the customer autonomously with managemnent support. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretion and substantial decisionmaking authority while leading team members and driving overall team performance. Brief overview of the Infrastructure and Operations Team As part of the ESAs Data Science and Archives division, the Science and Operations IT Unit SITU is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, management, Operations, maintenance and evolution of all scientific and operations IT Infrastructure, IT projects and IT applications within the Science Operations Department, which is part of the Directorate of Science SITU is also responsible for proposing commonality and cost efficiency of scientific and operations IT solutions, IT architectures and IT services and applications across the department and to provide it while ensuring the needed level of protection to all those IT components After the merger of the former ESTEC SSO IT team and its activities with SITU, SITU is now geographically distributed across European Space Research and Technical Centre ESTEC and European Space Astronomy Centre ESAC, having presence in both sites. The IT infrastructure managed by SITU is also present in both sites.SITU is organized into two main subunits Infrastructure and Operations IO Projects and Applications PA Specifically office laptops, and general user IT such as 365 and email are provided by ESA Corporate IT and outside of the scope. For the sake of simplicity, only the key areas are shown in the following paragraphs. A detailed document is available upon application. Proficient in the English Language Spoken and Written. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in Spain without the need to obtain a work visa. Currently the team is successfully teleworking from home due to covid19 with occasional visits. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line with management responsibility. You will be registered for both social security and tax in Spain. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Participating in project reviews to assess compliance with the applicable RAMS requirements and to formulate acceptreject recommendations. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required Master degree in relevant study and at least 4 years of relevant work experience. Relevant experience of application of RAMS engineering to space programs, including in ground andor ground based systems and operations. Experience in design and engineering of safety critical systems. A handson knowledge of the RAMS analyses and methodologies Hardware and Software, preparation of relevant RAMS documentation during the overall project lifecycle and application of ECSS dependability and safety standards. Experience in dependability and safety engineering management processes and objectives and experience during operations is an advantage. Experience in the field of ground safety and projects assistance in obtaining the relevant launch centre safety certification is an advantage. Knowledge of RTCADO178C Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification and related certification schemes, and experience in interfacing certification authorities is considered an asset. Knowledge of EU Safety Directive as Directive 9837EC Machinery, Directive 9992EC Risk from Explosive Atmospheres, Directive 9723EC Pressure Equipment and other safety directives relevant for space is considered an asset. Familiarity with space product assurance practices together with a good working knowledge of appropriate RAMS tools is an advantage. Knowledge of the Navigation domain would be an asset.
