Flight Dynamics System Software Engineering Support

For one of our main customers, EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for a Flight Dynamics System Software Engineering Supportfor the requirements specification, architectural design, implementation, integration, verification and maintenance of the Flight Dynamics System of a Ground Segment. The work will cover EUMETSAT Low Earth Orbit LEO Programmes. The key person shall work in the Mission Control Applications and Tools Team within the GSI Division in the TSS Department. The key person will report to the Mission Control Applications Team Leader. The tasks of the key person will be carried out at EUMETSAT facilities in Darmstadt, but travel overseas andor within Europe may be required for certain activities. Tasks and Responsibilities The key person will provide hisher prime support to the Mission Control Applications and Tools Team and heshe will support the evolution and maintenance of the EUMETSAT Flight Dynamics Systems. the requirements specification, design, implementation, integration and verification of Flight Dynamics Systems for new Programmes PhaseBCD, including the setting up of the related maintenance arrangements and processes. The tasks of the key person will typically include Support to new Missions PhaseB activities Requirements engineering Participation in the functional analysis and decomposition of the Ground Segment requirements in the domain of Flight Dynamics System. o Support the definition of Ground Segment requirements in the area of the Flight Dynamics System. Participation in workshops and review meetings. o Interfacing with Operations to consolidate the operational concept in the Flight Dynamics System requirements. o Support the identification of the verification method and initial test cases for the Flight Dynamics System requirements. o Incorporate the reuse of the EUMETSAT Flight Dynamics System kernel products in the Ground Segment requirements. o Interfacing with the Flight Dynamics System kernel product experts in the MCA Team to coordinate their contributions to the requirements definition. System Architectural design o Support the generation of the architectural system level design of the Flight Dynamics System as part of the Ground Segment. o Support the production of design models using Systems Engineering and CASE tools. o Support the definition and documentation of all interfaces IRDsICDs between the elements of the Flight Dynamics System and other Ground Segment or external elements. o Incorporate the reuse of the EUMETSAT Flight Dynamics System kernel products in the Ground Segment design. Support to new Missions PhaseCD activities Support to Flight Dynamics System implementation o Support to the requirement and design engineering activities as part of the applications development. o Participation and contribution in requirements, design and implementation reviews both internal and with external contractors. o Follow the software development by external contractors of the Flight Dynamics System. Support to IVV and Acceptance o Participation in verification readiness reviews and verification testing campaigns both internal and with external contractors. Maintenance and Evolution Activities o Reengineering activities analysis of the porting of some subsystems to stateoftheart technologies, tradeoff studies of various technologies, software design of the technical solutions, following the procurement of the changes with external contractors and verification testing of the changes. o Evolutions and changes generation andor analysis of userdriven and maintenance driven software requirements, software design of the technical solutions, following the procurement of the changes with external contractors and verification testing of the changes. o Preventive and corrective maintenance including the investigation and correction or following the corrections implemented by external contractors of anomalies in the software facilities and verification testing of the fixes. o Maintenance test procedures generation and updates of maintenance test procedures at software facility level and at system level. o Support and development of the verification infrastructure development andor procurement of scripts tools to perform installation checks, nonregression, functional and performance testing. Analysis and implementation of mechanisms or tools allowing the automatic or semiautomatic verification testing of the application software. o Coordination of the production of new software releases or patches, delivery acceptance and installation onsite. This activity includes the technical coordination of the production by an external contractor of new releases or patches of the application software, liaison with the EUMETSAT operational users, participation to technical reviews, participation to infactory at contractor premises acceptance testing campaigns and coordination of the installation of the releases or patches onsite at EUMETSAT. o Execution and coordination of software verification and nonregression testing campaigns. This activity includes preparation of test data, running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports, analysis of results and troubleshooting of problems. o Software support software support to the endusers of the application software. o Ensure operations continuity by provision of oncall services and software support to operations. o Documentation generation and updates of technical documents. o Technical point of contact for maintenance contractors acting as point of contact with the contractor for technical discussions, review of technical documentation from the contractor, organizing periodical technical meetings with the contractor. Support to Reference Architecture definition and maintenance o Participation to the definition and maintenance of the EUMETSAT TSS reference architecture for the Flight Dynamics System part of the Ground Segment. Experience and education In addition to having a University degree in a relevant engineering discipline, the key person shall demonstrate significant knowledge and experience in the area of specification, design, implementation, verification and maintenance of Flight Dynamics Systems. The key person shall have skills and experience in the following mandatory areas 1. Domain Skills o Experience minimum 3 years in requirements elicitation in the area of Flight Dynamics. o Experience minimum 3 years in the definition of software requirements, architectural design, implementation andor customisation of Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems in the context of LEO missions. 2. Software Development, Verification Maintenance Skills o Experience minimum 3 years in the full cycle of development and maintenance of application software, preferably for Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems, following formal software engineering processes. This includes user and system requirement analysis, software requirement engineering, software design, implementation, corrective and evolutive maintenance activities. o Experience minimum 3 years in IVV integration, verification and validation activities for Flight Dynamics Systems following formal engineering processes. This includes requirement verification, system and subsystem integration, generation of test plan and test procedures, nonregression testing, generation of test data, generation of test tools, running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports and anomaly tracking. It would be a distinct advantage for the key person to have knowledge andor experience with some of the following 3. Domain Skills o Experience with software development and maintenance of Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems and Tools based on the ESAESOC NAPEOS Navigation Package for Earth Observation Satellite. o Experience with software development and maintenance of Tools using the Orekit space dynamics library. o Experience in integration with Mission Control Systems based on MICONYS software suite from ESAESOC. o Experience in integration with Mission Planning Systems. o Experience with support to operations for Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems. 4. System Maintenance Skills o Experience in being the technical point of contact for contractors working at offsite premises and responsible for application software evolution and maintenance. 5. Software Technology Skills o Experience with developing software applications using FORTRAN. o Experience with developing software applications using Java. o IBM DOORS requirement management Tool. o Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect Tool. o Linux Operating System. o Experience in developing software applications using interfaces to relational database management systems RDBMS and experience with data model design for RDBMS. o Unified Modelling Language UML for software design. o XML processing schema design, validation, parser libraries, transformation XSLT and XPath. o Experience in designing, developing and maintaining software client applications using Eclipse as HMI framework Rich Client Platform. o Experience using tools for the automation of software testing. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the key person must be able to work effectively in this language. The key person shall also be assessed for the following skills and qualities o Working proactively with the minimum of supervision in an individual or team environment. o Conducting activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, working calmly and correctly under stress. o Working in teams and sharing expertise and experience with other team members. o Able to commit to the plan and deliver the expected results on time or to report proactively if any deviations are foreseen. o Take ownership of problems through to effective resolution. o Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills and be confident to deal with a wide variety of people.

TASKS EXPERIENCE The scope of work will include Identify and regularly update the relevant user organizations, their fora and possible intermediaries on the sentinel3 marine mission and the marine data stream. Provide regular information to users and user groups on the status of the mission and the related marine and ocean products and service. Analyse and handle related user enquiries and user requests received VIa the Helpdesk. Review the framework for user communications activities with respect to the Sentinel 3 mission and related marine and ocean products and services. Support the development of the relationships with key users and subject matter experts and facilitate feedback on the quality of the products and services provided. Establish the training requirements, develop and deliver a plan to meet those requirements, evaluate the effectiveness of the training and resources delivered. Identify and engage relevant and skilled subject matter experts to support user training. Maintenance and update of relevant user documentation e.g. user guides, etc. Maintain contact with the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service user engagement processes, as required. Parker Hannifin Corporation , the global leader in motion and control technologies, announced today that it has been selected by Alevo Group, the Energy Service Provider, for the supply of systems to transfer energy from Alevo's GridBank battery modules to the utility grid. The announcement follows Alevo's agreement with Customized Energy Solutions in January to provide 200 MW of energy storage to the wholesale energy market in the largest deployment of energy transmission in North America.
