For the location in ESAC, Spain based offsite will also be considered we are looking for an Instrument Support to Herschel Science Operations at ESAC. The Role Since May 2013, the Herschel spacecraft has had no liquid helium coolant remaining to allow the science instruments on board to operate, hence regular operations have ceased and the spacecraft has been placed into a nonreturning Solar orbit. In the ongoing postoperations phase, the Herschel Science Centre HSC, located at ESAC, is, inter alia, responsible for supporting data analysis improvements, oversight of the calibration and crosscalibration of the science instruments, and the generation of standard science products and their quality assessment as final Herschel archive products. Tasks For this service, the incumbent is expected to perform the following service tasks. The priorities of each task and the level to which they are performed will depend on the needs of the observatory plus the capabilities of the successful candidates. to understand the general workings of the PACS andor SPIRE science instruments of Herschel, sufficient to be able to answer general community questions become responsible for the documentation of the PACS or SPIRErelated elements of the Herschel Explanatory Supplement and data processing documentation. to become expert in understanding the post operations development of one of the PACS photometerspectrometer or SPIRE photometer instruments answer helpdesk questions on instrument operations and data products associated with either the PACS or SPIRE instruments participate in assessing and updating calibration information and its use in the standard processing pipelines to participate in data processing workshops and work with users in understanding how to handle their Herschel PACS or SPIRE science data to participate in acceptance testing of new software as it relates to the PACS or SPIRE pipeline products and associated data processing software to participate in crosscalibration checks of the Herschel science data as needed perform data quality checking of problematic observations, as needed potentially be involved in the formulation of extended processing and data products of the Herschel Science Centre for the Herschel Science Archive. conduct science research based on Herschel data. The current EUMETSAT SAP HR implementation includes Portal functionality for Working Time, Benefits and Payments, Personal Information, myLearning. Monitoring controlling, communicating and tracking the registered bugs with SAP Business Process Experts, SAP Consultants and System Administrators until bug closure. Initiating the change management process by collecting change details and creating the related change management forms for the changes to the system functionality, Identifying testing, documentation, and training materials that may be affected by system changes with the Business Process Experts BPEs and following up the implementation of the required changes to the affected documentation, including supporting BPEs in the documentation activity. Highlighting end user training needs in the area of HR. Coordinating HR related end user training initiated via the SAP Business Process Experts, direct requests or as a result of Service Desk action, including Training reports and training material. Coordinating and followingup changes to enduser documentation, process documentation, test documentation etc. Providing ad hoc and scheduled end user training in cooperation with the SAP Business Process Experts or as part of the EUMETSAT induction programme. Essential requirements It is expected that the key person will have a minimum of 23 year experience on the following aspects Experience of working in a HR environment with involvement in key HR Business processes such as time management, recruitment, and HR administrationorganizational management plus knowledge of associated processes, like HR planning and budgeting and relevant system transactions. Prior experience in coordinating tasks between a high number of internal and external people, such as bug followup, training coordination and documentation followup. Proven experience in providing enduser support, and be proficient in using the mySAP ERP and portal HR functionalities, preferably the mySAP ERP for the public sector. Experience in providing end user training in the areas of SAP navigation, workflow and ESS on SAP portal.
