Position Description You will become part of a multinational team ensuring the integration and verification of the ground control and payload processing system for a satellite mission. Applying your strong communication skills you will interact with other teams to analyze system defects and to progress with integration and testing. You will support your more junior colleagues and, potentially, you may take over the lead of a small team. Eventually, you will keep your fingers crossed while watching the live stream of the satellite launch together with the rest of the satellite mission team! Your future duties and responsibilities Based on Test Specifications and the limitations of the current component versions to be tested, you will together with your team develop Test Procedures to cover Integration Testing and Verification Testing. You raise concerns where the required tests dont seem feasible and seek a solution together with experts within the team and the clients organization. You maintain a network within the wider project team to ensure all information needed by your team is available. You have an eye on the lifetime effort and suggest technologies and processes that ease the work of the team. After agreement with the Project Manager you take ownership of the implementation. Specifically, your area of activities include the following tasks Integration Testing Verification Testing Supervising Test Procedure Development and formal Test Execution Formal Reporting of Results to the Verification Control Team Interpreting Test Results within the context of the Ground Segment Design and Spacecraft Operations Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of system problems Required qualifications to be successful in this role You have a University degree or equivalent in an engineering or scientific discipline relevant to the job profile. You have experience in working in a project team in your area of expertise and first hand experience with leading a team. In addition to the technical knowhow you are characterized by your social competencies. You enjoy teamoriented work, bring excellent communication skills and an analytical mind. Working with complex systems sounds like a refreshing challenge to you. After an adaptation period you are ready to take over technical andor team leading responsibility. EGNOS is a satellite based European augmentation system for GPS signals and the upcoming European Navigation system Galileo. Currently the next generation EGNOS V3 is under development. In this context the system performance qualification engineer contributes to the complete and timely verification of all performance requirements of the system. Tasks and Responsibilities Performing requirements engineering of navigation performance requirements for the PCF system PCF is responsible to generate GPS and Galileo satellite orbit and clock corrections and bounds Break down and allocation of navigation requirements functional and performance to the PCF subsystems Defining Test Procedures and Test Cases to verify the PCF Contributing to specification of metrics, tools and scenarios in line with needs coming from qualification Maintaining existing tools supporting generation of qualification credits Generating and maintaining the requirements verification matrix and the traceability report, and related documentation. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Provide space segment related expert inputs for the SW instrumentation and SW missions and Instrument and System Requirements Documents updates. Support the maintaining and updating the service system requirements and mission requirements data bases and their dependencies with the appropriate software tools. Provide inputs for Space Segment related SW Segment Development Roadmap reviews. Provide expert support to the definition of the SW Space Segment architectural designs. Provide technical support for development, testing and acceptancevalidation of space segment related applications and software delivered by the service team to SW Segment. Support preparation of the programme work as a space segment expert. Support the preparation of upcoming instrument and satellite mission studies and procurements including in particular the definition of the system requirements and related aspects. Establish and maintain the inventories of mission system requirements with a tracing towards related parent and daughter requirements by using DOORS. Technical support for instrument and satellite mission reviews including reviews of the documentation with a focus on the interface definitions and the system related aspects. . Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory As minimum a M.Sc. or equivalent academic degree in spaceflight relevant engineering disciplines or in physics. Minimum of 5 years of working experience covering the two following domains space systems engineering or space instrument engineering. Practical experience in implementing spaceflight instrumentation or satellite missions including flight hardware implementation. Experience in satellite or instrument system engineering Working experience in international environment or with international Agencies. Experience in participating industry contracts in domain of space engineering. Experience in participating in international industry contracts with a clearly defined project management or lead engineering responsibility.
