Position Reference 650 We are currently looking for an ECLS Engineer to work for our client in the city of Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The ECLS Engineer will work in the Life support and Physical Sciences Instrumentation Section in ESAESTEC. The main focus of the abovementioned Section is sustainable life support technologies, In Situ Resource Utilisation and small payload development for manned and unmanned spaceflight. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Implement and supervise RD activities in the field of sustainable life support technologies e.g. MELiSSA, with a specific focus on bioreactors, biochemical processes characterisation, modelling and development. Supervise the development of technology demonstrators on board ISS and follow up of operations over its life cycle. Implement and supervise RD activities in the area of In Situ Resource Utilisation. Provide project support for manned spaceflight and scientific experiments onboard the ISS. Provide support to the management of the MELiSSA project, technical and scientific coordination with MELiSSA partners. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory PhD or Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology applied Microbiology or Physics, with minimum 4 years of relevant experience. Experience in specification, engineering and analysis of chemical and biochemical processes, knowledge of plantfood production. Project skills, management of RD contracts, academic and industrial experience. Good interpersonal communication skills, team oriented. Fluency in English, both written and spoken The following skills would be highly desirable Experience in multiphases processes characterisation and engineering. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line with ESA Job Class. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Data Processing Systems and Applications Engineer

Position Reference 649 We are currently looking for a Data Processing Systems and Applications Engineer to work for our client in the city of Darmstadt, Germany. Hisher duties will involve day to day operations and maintenance, to the handling of anomalies, upgrades and configuration changes for these facilities. Moreover, the Data Processing Systems and Applications Engineer will be responsible for the settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures. For procurements and maintenance services provided externally, the key person shall provide support to the management of the technical interface with the external contractors, provided that the Contractor is not involved in such procurements. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Maintenance and development of the Data Processing SystemsApplication Software for many of the facilities the first line maintenance is being performed by EUMETSAT in conjunction with the industrial contractor the second line maintenance is being performed by the industrial contractor under supervision and with support from EUMETSAT. Procurement activities for maintenance and evolution activities, such as specification and maintenance of requirements for new or enhanced Data Processing SystemsApplications Software components. Coordinationinputs to planning and preparation of releases. Coordination with other EUMETSAT Teams andor Contractors to prepare introduction of newupgraded components. Generation and maintenance of technical baseline documentation. Contribute to the operations of existing data processing ground segments. Participation in technical meetings and formal reviews. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Experience in engineering of large, UNIX or LINUX based, complex, realtime data processing systems, including requirements specification, design, software maintenance or development, formal software testing and system integration. Very good technical writing skills, in particular in the area of formal technical documentation e.g. requirements specification and design documentation, test plans and procedures, maintenance procedures. Source code control systems skills e.g. Subversion, Git. Experience in software anomalies analysis, debugging, profiling, fixing and processing. Very good communication and presentation skills. Team working spirit. Ability to learn and develop new skills and knowledge. Capable and willing to work within a multidisciplinary context in cooperation with other teams. Ability to maintain a systematic approach to work, in order to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. The following skills would be highly desirable Operating systems and application software upgrades andor porting to new platforms. Objectoriented software design, implementation, and maintenance, including the use of UMLSysML based tools for supportingdocumenting the design, at least at the architectural level.
