Serco and Proud Make a difference every day. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Operations Engineer for joining the Sentinels Data Hub Operations Team, based in Frascati Rome,Italy. . Main Responsibilities The job holder will be part of the Sentinels Data Hub Team as Operations engineer. Heshe will be involved in monitoring and maintaining the Sentinels Rolling Archive data dissemination Service. The right candidate will take care to carry out the following tasks Support the review andor preparation of the documentation relevant to the indexing and storage of the main products metadata in the DHuS archives scientifically meaningful to endusers. Support testing and verification activities. Execute regular maintenance activities. Support the configuration control and definition of the network interfaces. Execution of Transfer to Operations of service applications e.g. DHuS. Realtime monitoring and control of the endtoend product publication chains. Management of service incidents and anomalies. Generation and maintenance of Operational Procedures and work instructions. Linux Shell scripting for operational incidents management. Interfacing with other groups software development teams, PDGS teams, Copernicus SCI team, Network and Security team. Support the update of web contents e.g. user guides, news publication, service web portals Support to the help desk for replying to operational engineering issues. Extraction of service statistics and generation of weekly, monthly and quarterly Operational Reports and Service Performance Reports. IT Service Infrastructure housekeeping. Support Oncall operational activities. The Ideal Candidate For this position the ideal candidate will bring Good knowledge in Linux Operating Systems e.g. RedHat Good Knowledge of Linux shell scripting. Good Knowledge of Database Management Systems e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL. Fluency in English written and spoken Ability to work in a team and to share and acquire knowledge Proactive problem solving attitude Desirables Knowledge of Earth Observation satellite data product formats. Main Responsibilities The Engineers shall perform the following activities Develop, upgrade, maintenance and extent all the GNSS CAATS computerassisted Audit techniques and any associated tools Integrate the inputs provided by the contractors into the GNSS CAATS and develop the associated tools to perform this integration Integrate the outputs from the GNSS CAATS into the GNSS Cyber Internal Audit Report and develop the associated tools to perform this integration Develop and maintain a database with all the data inputs as the main repository of the Auditor knowledge base Physical Audits to some important Infrastructures within the scope of the Cyberinternal Audit Plans The Ideal Candidate The following requirements are considered important to identify the CAATs Support Engineers. Minimum a bachelors degree or equivalent, preferably in the field of software engineering. The EU SECRET Clearances are mandatory. Expertise, at least, 2 years in software development. Experience in conducting projects reviews document and SW development processes. Experience programming in Visual Basic. Knowledge in at least one area Generalised Audit software GAS or Business Intelligence tools. Knowledge about addins, plugins and apps for Microsoft Office as Power User, Power Pivot, Power Query, ParallelDots, Office Tab, Kutools, Tableau or other similar tools to increase the productivity of the Microsoft Office products. Knowledge about the ISACA Framework, ISO27K, NIST or COBIT standards is an asset. Main Responsibilities Specific Tasks Coordinating the definition of the Ground Segment Concept within the project team and in collaboration with teams in ESOC and ESRIN. Preparing and maintaining the requirements for the Specific Aspects of the Flight Operations Segment FOS, implementation delegated to ESOC and Payload Data Ground Segment PDGS, implementation delegated to ESRIN. You have knowledge of the ECSS standards and, as an asset, documentation and configuration control management techniques. You have project management experience, preferably in the field of Earth Observation Ground Segment Development would be an asset. You have knowledge of the ESA Earth Explorers missions and instruments and processes related to their PDGS development would be an asse.
