As the Communication Services Team Leader, you will support the planning, development, deployment and operations of the network infrastructure, services and solutions responding to current and future needs. Duties Lead a team of communications systems engineers, including setting objectives, managing performance, keeping key skills up to date, planning the activities and reporting to management Contribute to defining and maintaining the roadmap for the consolidated EUMETSAT communication network infrastructure, securing operational continuity while planning the required evolutions Design, implement and deliver scalable network solutions with the associated infrastructure, fulfilling the availability, resilience and security requirements of the current operational systems Translate specific business needs of internal customers into network requirements, in the context of the development of new ground segments for future satellite systems Coordinate the maintenance of EUMETSAT communication network systems and services, including 2nd3rd level investigations and problem resolution Manage service contracts and interact with suppliers of network products and services. Qualifications A university degree in a relevant engineering discipline e.g. telecommunications, network systems, etc. or equivalent. We are looking for an experienced Ground Station Systems Engineer to support the development and or upgrade of local and remote ground stations Svalbard Azores Romania Turkey Italy. What youll be doing Lead the specification and requirements definition activities Contribute to procurement and followup the contractors development activities Followup the Assembly, Integration and Tests of new ground stations procured from industry, and lead on site acceptance testing Lead the definition, execution and evaluation of tests for upgrades or refurbishment of ground stations Define and validate, with ground segment, system development and operations preparation teams, an adequate transition plan from ground station acceptance to entry into operations, including contributions to relevant ground segment and system Integration Verification and Validation tests Lead the definition and control the implementation of integrated maintenance plans for ground stations Support the Ground Stations Competence Area Manager in defining long term plans and roadmaps to harmonise Ground Station engineering, maintenance and evolutions across all EUMETSAT satellite systems including associated processes. Skills and Experience Proven experience in ground stations engineering following well established system engineering processes covering the full development lifecycle, and relevant technical standards e.g. ECSS, CCSDS Competence and infield proven experience in the area of Ground Stations Assembly Integration and Test and integration of ground stations into ground segment and endtoend satellite systems Experience in ground stations maintenance Understanding and experience in the management of industrial contracts in the area of ground stations engineering or development will be considered an advantage. Senior Engineer, Ground Systems Luxembourg Betzdorf Your Job As Senior Engineer, Ground Systems, you will primarily support the preparation of technical proposals in response to international tenders and be directly responsible for the design, specification, development, implementation and improvements of the groundbased services and ground segment facilities required for the satellite and hybrid communication systems. Your Responsibilities Contribute to the delivery of projects and services to customers within the agreed budget, specification and schedule, meaning Design, specify, evaluate, implement andor modify Satellite Ground Systems RF TTC systems including the tracking antennas Baseband and control room systems Satellite ranging systems Design, specify, and implement fixed, transportable or mobile uplink or receiveonly stations Design subsystems and implement earth station equipment including antennas, HPAs, switch matrix, updownconverters, modulators and interfacility equipment Design, specify and manage the integration of measurement, communications and monitoring and control systems including IOT and MC Systems Perform transmission analysis, link budget calculations and studies in support of business development and customer services Perform system design, handle budgets, handle procurements, manage installations and the operational handover of ground segment and communications systems Interface and engage with external as well as internal partners Develop a risk management framework for systems related security risks and manage accordingly Design, implement and maintain comprehensive and consistent security solutions to mitigate identified risks to an acceptable level Assess system and application security requirements, threats, vulnerabilities and security risks in complex, heterogeneous systems and throughout their life cycle Support proposal activities through the provision of Technical Specifications, Statement of Works SOWs and Cost Estimations and contractual documents, in response to customer Requests for Information RFI customer Requests For Proposals RFP, in coordination with other engineers, internal and external parties Evaluate relevant technological developments, market trends, competitive factors, customer requirements, standardisation licensing and regulatory aspects Your Experience Qualifications Master degree in RF, Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent Minimum 710 years of applicable professional experience in in the telecommunication industry, engineering and implementing of telecommunications systems Experience in presales engineering e.g. technical proposal, cost estimation, facing customer, is an asset Ability to manage complex projects and deliver on time and budget Experience with performance, risk, cost, and schedule analysis Knowledge of the satellite technologies and satellitebased communication Good project management skills incl. budget management Good experience in presales engineering e.g. technical proposal, cost estimation, facing customer Innovative spirit and business acumen, adaptable and flexible Good conflict management skills in a multicultural and interdisciplinary setup Fluency in English, any other EMEA language is considered as an asset Willing to travel internationally NATOEU SECRET clearances are considered an asset.
