Engineer, Advanced Systems Engineering Luxembourg Betzdorf ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY This role will contribute to the development of new satellite and system concepts based on detailed evaluation of satellite designs and associated system performances, optimizing the overall business metrics in collaboration with relevant SES teams Key activities include contributing to the development of technical modelling capabilities allowing detailed performance evaluation of new systems and associated technical optimization leading innovation activities related to new technologies in collaboration with industrial partners and research institutes contributing to the definition of operational tools exploiting the knowledge developed during the system design phase contributing to the definition of the SES technological roadmap for ground equipment PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Develop detailed engineering simulation tools allowing to evaluate and optimize performances of new systems Evaluate the overall sizing of SES future communication networks relying on hybrid physical layers MEOGEOTerrestrial and for diverse applications Develop and evaluate system concepts aligned with commercial requirements and propose innovative solutions optimizing business metrics Propose and analyze innovative ideas addressing SES business challenges and lead or participate to subsequent practical projects Maintain awareness of techniques and systems in the areas of advanced communication technologies in the satellite and nonsatellite domains COMPETENCIES Excellent knowledge of the satellitebased technologies Proven experience in communication technologies RF technology, modulation and coding, link budgets, communication protocols Proven experience in network architectures and associated technologies with a good understanding of practical issues Experience in system design with the capability to quantify all elements and to break down a complex system into a set of sub systems with welldefined interfaces Mastering of a wide range technical tools that will be needed to assess quickly and efficiently the proposed concepts Effective analytical skills interpersonal skills Outstanding presentation skills for articulating complex subjects to unfamiliar audiences QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE University Degree in ElectricalTelecommunicationAerospaceElectronic Engineering related fields 510 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a design role Fluency in English plus one other European language Whats in it for you? Support Specialist, Antenna Mechanics Systems Luxembourg Betzdorf Your Job As a Support Specialist Antenna Mechanics Systems you organize and provide 1st and 2nd line maintenance to the 80 antennas in Betzdorf and Redu B. You manage maintenance planning and act as lead interface point for engineering upgrades. You provide rapid intervention for Antenna Mechanics and associated systems on SES growing number of Antenna assets at an expanding global level. Your Responsibilities Proactively ensure and be responsible for the correct functioning state and maintenance of the Antennas and ensure high operational availability Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical faults and defects in these systems Act as lead interface point for antenna mechanics and associated systems to Ground Systems Engineering in antenna projects Provide adhoc subject related expert support to customers Replace defective system components while minimizing system downtime Coordinate periodic preventative maintenance, taking into account operational activities Operate and drive a Cherry Picker truck up to 33m and work in safety at these heights Follow and keep up to date with legislation on safety regulations and achieve high safety standards Ensure spare parts management within budget Your Experience Qualifications Technician qualification Diploma or degree Mechanical certification 10 years experience working in industry Welding qualifications TIG, MIG, Oxyacetylene, arc etc. Previous knowledge and experience of Antenna Mechanics Systems would be considered as an asset HGV license Heavy Goods Vehicle Poids Lourd Lastwagen Driving license C 3.5 tons and fork lift truck driving licenses Knowledge of safety working practices for working at height and with climbing equipment Manlifter certification Excellent system diagnostic skills Strong team player Demonstrated experience of performing well under pressure Rapid and effective response to any anomalies in the mentioned systems High availability as a result of effective preventive actions of the relevant systems Achieve high safety standards Whats in it for you?
