A trough of low pressure located a little over 1300 miles southeast of Hilo, Hawaii continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Some gradual development of this system is possible through the end of the week while it moves westward across the central Pacific. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent. An area of low pressure is expected to develop a few hundred miles south or southwest of the Gulf of Tehuantepec in a couple of days.
