OPSTSS QA APT Support Consultancy Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. You will have the following responsibilities Assisting in the definition of processes and providing guidance in process definition and implementation to members of OPS and TSS Assessments of OPS and TSS processes and recommending improvements Monitoring OPS and TSS anomaly management processes, supporting the organization of Anomaly Review Boards ARBs and providing statistics Supporting OPS and TSS risk management processes and associated reviews Providing frontline user support, helping users with problems and questions Registering users for APT and providing them with instruction in using the tool Coordinating the resolution of any problems that might be reported Contributing to the formulation of user requirements for enhancements Performing acceptance testing of new versions of the tool Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in a relevant field Good knowledge of the ISO 9001 standard Experience of working in an environment where an ISO 9001certified management system is used Knowledge of the management, engineering and quality assurance activities performed for a project, as typically defined in a formal project management methodology Experience of documenting work activities in the form of process definitions, procedures and working practices, plus good userviewpoint writing skills. Experience of QA auditing process assessment Experience of working with a formal anomalymanagement process, using a multiuser computerbased tool for the recording and dispositioning of anomalies. In doing this, the Key Person shall support SEP activities in the following areas of work Modelling of ground segment subsystems, addressing functional, behavioral and interface aspects Refactoring of the architectural design of existing systems within the context defined for the Reference Ground Segment Support the consolidation and evolution of the Reference Architecture Definition of requirements for the components of the architecture. For doing this, the Key Person shall make use of ModelBased Systems Engineering approaches and tools to document the work done and describe the architecture of the system components. The MBSE tool available at EUMETSAT in support of functional analysis and decomposition of the system is CORE 9 from Vitech. The Key Person will be a member of a multidisciplinary system engineering team interacting with operational programmes and future programmes engineering teams. TASKS Requirements engineering, which consists in requirement analysis and validation, requirement allocation, and requirements maintenance Functional analysis and architecture design applying system modelling engineering methods and techniques Subsegment components specification Interface and data structures and flows definition Design which results in an architecture, described by its complete functional, physical and software characteristics System analysis, which is performed for the purpose of resolving requirements conflicts, decomposing and allocating requirements, assessing system effectiveness Performance of trade studies for assessing effectiveness, risk, cost and planning. The Key person is expected to perform the following specific tasks 1. Build models of Subsystem of the RA Ground Segment, capturing their requirements, describing the internal architecture and defining their external interfaces 2. Support the generation, review and maintenance of the documentation of the RA Subsystems addressing their architecture, functions, requirements and interfaces 3. Support the management of the requirements of the RA subsystem and Components, heeding on the evolution of the operational system and future systems, using DOORS 4. Categorise and link relevant Subsystem and Component requirements to the model for traceability 5. Refine the processes and working practices established for the application of the Model Based SE and the use of CORE 6. Support the administration, configuration, deployment and use of CORE licenses. In the performance of these tasks, the Key person shall apply the EUMETSAT configuration and change control procedures as well as the relevant system engineering standards, quality management procedures and maintenance procedures. The actual work will be released and defined in terms of scope, period, tasks, and deliverables in individual Work Packages. MANDATORY SKILLS The Key person shall have a university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision. Knowledge and experience with the following is considered essential Extensive experience in the analysis of systems applications and modelling At least 5 years demonstrated experience in the field of systems engineering and architectural design Space and Ground System engineering processes, and System and Software lifecycles and standards. Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering methods, techniques and tools Experience in the use of modelling and design tools in support of architectural design activities e.g. CORE Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS. ADDITIONAL SKILLS Previous working experience in system engineering aspects of SystemGround Systems for MeteorologicalEarth Observation Satellites would be an advantage. Experience in evolution management andor product line management of assets shared across organisational parts is desirable. The Key person shall be able to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple parallel tasks. Heshe shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communications skills verbal and written are important. Heshe shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. Due to the nature of the position, the Key person shall have good interpersonal skills and proactive attitude with strong ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment. Proficiency in English is required. Applicants must be EU national or holder of a valid work permit for Germany.
