Meteorological Product Operations Engineering Consultancy Support

For one of our main customers, EUMETSAT, we are looking for a Meteorological Product Operations Engineer to work in the Technical and Scientific Support Department as a member of the Remote Sensing and Products Division RSP. The consultant will be a member of the Atmospheric Profiling Team within RSP. Hisher responsibilities will cover the monitoring and reporting of product production and product quality in close cooperation with relevant members of other teams in RSP and of the OPS Department. The support will focus on products processed from measurements of a subset of instruments embarked on the EPS Metop and the NOAA satellites. Tasks and Responsibilities Extracting relevant information from the ATOVSAVHRR EPS processing chains and Cal Val Facility CVF to perform regular production and quality monitoring reports. The reporting intervals are daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly Performing offline analysis of product quality Implementing new or revised products into the operational product processing chains Working on improvements of the existing product quality Maintaining contact with users to obtain their feedback on product service quality Elaborating, tracking and publishing service level quality indicators Reporting anomalies in product services, contributing to their diagnosis and tracking their resolution Supporting validation of new and improved products, and the compilation of the relevant product validation reports Experience and education The candidate shall have A University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline Minimum of 3 years of experience of the operational use and quality control of satellite or meteorological data. Verification of operational product processing systems Configuration control of software and data Programming in C, C and Fortran Production monitoring and reporting Quality control of satellite data and products Utilisation of products from meteorological satellites Calibration and validation of satellite products Knowledge and experience in the following areas will be an advantage Experience in the use of image processing software such as IDL or ENVI in a UNIX environment Experience in the quality control of NOAA polar satellite data, meteorological observations and Numerical Weather Prediction data Knowledge of and experience with EPS missions and instruments Experience with work under UNIXLinux operating systems Experience in the use of Scripting Languages e.g. Perl, Python, shell The consultant shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and structured manner, heshe shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with a minimum of supervision. The activity is assumed, as a baseline, to require the fulltime participation of one Consultant for the duration of the contract. The tasks of the Consultant will be carried out mainly at EUMETSAT facilities in Darmstadt, but travel within Europe may be required for certain activities. Image Quality Assessment Engineering consultancy support

For one of our main customers, EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for an Image Quality Assessment Engineering consultancy support. The candidate shall offer consultancy support to the technical and scientific activities conducted by the Image Navigation, Registration and Calibration INRC Competence Area of the Remote Sensing and Products Division RSP within the Technical and Scientific Support Department. The main activities for the INRC Competence Area are related to image navigationgeolocation, rectification, onboard, vicarious and crosscalibration. The Key person shall work as a member of the Image Quality Assessment Team of INRC supporting the mediumterm and longterm monitoring, operation and further development of Level 1 data processing systems. The Key person shall support the quality assessment and validation of the Level 1 image products for current and future GEO missions but will also provide support to current and future LEO missions in this area. Moreover, heshe shall support the development and maintenance of monitoring software for Level 1 image quality assessment as well as support the software maintenance of the operational MSG Level 1 data processing systems. This includes a significant contribution to and active participation in verification and validation test activities. In addition, the Key person may also support the development activities for the MTG and EPS SG missions. The activity is assumed, as a baseline, to require the fulltime participation of a Key person for the duration of the contract. Tasks and Responsibilities The tasks of the Key person will typically include Monitoring the mediumterm to longterm performance of Level 1 data processing systems, including the performance of their algorithms, and monitoring the quality of the generated Level 1 image products Developing and maintaining image quality assessment software, including the specification, verification and validation testing of software developments Supporting the further development of the Level 1 data processing systems, including the specification, verification and validation testing of system updates and related Level 1 products Supporting the investigation and correction of anomalies related to the performance of the MSGMTP Level 1 data processing systems Supporting the preparations for future GEO and LEO missions in the area of image quality assessment Attendance at technical meetings Participation in formal reviews. The tasks of the Key person will be carried out mainly at EUMETSAT facilities in Darmstadt, but travel within Europe may be required for certain activities. Experience and education In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Key person shall have Good theoretical knowledge of satellite imagery data processing algorithms for navigation, registration and calibration and the techniques used for assessing the geometric and radiometric quality of Level 1 image products A minimum of 3 years experience in the processing and analysis of data from imaging andor sounding instruments on remote sensing spacecraft Significant experience of validating remote sensing products and complex remote sensing data processing systems. The Key person shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision. Fluency in English is mandatory and a working knowledge of French would be an advantage, together with good communication skills. In addition, the Key person shall have practical, demonstrable experience inwith Software engineering, in particular in algorithm software development, in a Unix environment using CC, and ideally also Python and MatlabIDL Implementation of scientific algorithms from a given specification. QA Consultancy support

For one of our main customers, EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for a QA Consultancy support for the Low Earth Orbit LEO Division at EUMETSAT. The activities, for which the LEO Division is in charge of, start with the Phase B of the LEO programmes of EUMETSAT and end with the entry into routine operations service of the Programme. The consultant will be involved in the programmes currently ongoing within LEO Division, depending on the identified needs and priorities. Tasks and Responsibilities The LEO QA consultant will be integrated into the LEO QA Team which provides support to the LEO Division. EUMETSAT QA Engineers are deployed as integrated support to the various programmes, but belong to the PRS division which is part of the TSS Directorate. The tasks of the LEO QA consultant shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the following Implement EUMETSAT QA policies in the assigned areas, in accordance with the Programme specific QA plan for all phases covered by this SoW and the relevant contract. Update the Programme specific QA plan as necessary Followup the satellite procurement activities performed by ESA Provide QA support during the storage phases of the satellites Follow up any repair activity necessary on instruments embarked on MetopC satellite Support, monitor and witness Satellite AIT activities regarding instruments Manage and support the Anomalies Review Board ARB and Material Review Board MRB Provide QA support during the launch preparation activities Participate to the launch campaign, if requested. The consultant is required to have the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks in autonomy and with the minimum level of supervision. The consultant shall have, as a prerequisite, a background of at least 5 years in space systems spaceground segments, with at least 3 years of experience in project QA positions. In detail, the consultant is expected to demonstrate Sound handson experience in QA processes definition, implementation, monitoring and control Sound handson experience in risks management and lessons learned processes Sound experience in a rational application of quality international standards Sound handson experience in managing, reporting and following of procured items Knowledge of project management and project planning, including the ability to identify and report on critical paths Some knowledge of requirements management tools, e.g. DOORS Fluency in English ability to draft management reports and executive summaries in English knowledge of French would be an asset. MTG MC System Test Coordinator Consultancy Support

TASKS The general role of the key person will be the provision of engineering and testing support to the MTG Verification and Validation Team Leader in the frame of the Phase CDE1 of the MTG Programme. Heshe will contribute to all phases of the IVV programmes introduced above Planning, Execution and Control Closeout. Her His key duties will be the preparation, execution coordination including results analyses of the MTG MC Chain system VV tests. Shehe will also support the complete MTG system IVV testing, including support to the System Validation Tests and Operational Scenario Validation. The tasks of the System MC test coordinator key person will typically include the following tasks in a time wise sequence Incrementally develop and maintain System MC Test Specification, test cases from the highlevel definition contained in System VV Plans, inline with the System Design, the Operations Concept and the status of definition of the associated test tools Participate to system satellite simulator and test tools acceptance, prepare for the test tool usage and associated test data generation in coordination with Simulator Officer Contribute to the preparation and the execution of the MTG System Validation Tests with successive MTG satellite models for the verification of the associated requirements Plan for, coordinate, prioritise and lead the execution of the System MC Tests Generate test reports, verification records, substantiate associated anomaliesnon compliances, and perform postanalysis of the test results in liaison with Ops Prep Team and MC specialists Contribute to Test Readiness, Test Review Boards and Anomaly Review Boards Contribute to the preparation of the All Chains Test Specification, test cases. This experience shall include in particular Past System Engineering working experience in the development and or operations of a Space System Monitoring Control with characteristics and complexity similar to the complexity of MTG System, including in particular experience of MCS, FDS, INR, Ground Station MC Experience in the preparation and especially in the execution of the integration, verification and validation of a Space System Ground Segment and or full Space System including the preparation of the testing and the execution and analysis reporting of these tests Experience in requirements engineering and verification including the management of the traceability of requirements, and the management of their verification status.
