Cotton stocks have surged in India, pressuring Indian prices on the international markets. The Cotton Association of India (CAI) has accused the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) of overestimating the level in stocks, being responsible for the fall of Indian prices, therefore. Cotton yarn imports have recovered in June in China, after collapsing in May. Shipments from Pakistan have surged in May, however, whereas disappearing from India before they rebounded in June.
