PSF fibers prices are now dropping everywhere with spun yarn prices more or less reflecting the downward trend, depending on countries and counts. More strictly following the volatility of fiber and yarn markets, the latest price variations are now available in our monthly report. The August average prices are released for the month-to-date and compared with average prices in July and previous months. Our monthly report compares polyester staple fiber prices and polyester spun yarn prices in China, India, and Pakistan, in both local currency terms and US$ terms. Gross margins of spinners are also calculated. Historical data back to 2007 are available for download.

Cotton yarn prices could be expected to drop to lower levels, as a result of a weakness in demand, negatively affected by the US-China trade war. Our report compares cotton fiber and yarn prices in China, India, and Pakistan, in the past months and month-to-date, offering a comprehensive view of the yarn/fiber spreads in the three countries. Viscose fiber prices have further fallen in the last seven days, although very slightly. The market remains very stable, compared with the cotton and polyester markets. Our weekly report covers the viscose/rayon staple fiber and filament markets over the last 12 months. Viscose spun yarn prices in China, India, and Pakistan are also available. Cotton linter, cotton pulp and wood pulp prices on domestic and import markets are being tracked over the last 12 months.

Polyester chain prices have continued to drop in the last seven days in Asia. With paraxylene capacities expected to rise in the coming months in China significantly, PTA and polyester fiber prices could decline to even lower levels.
