Polyester Fiber and Filament Yarn Prices (Weekly Report)

PSF prices have been stabilized in the last week by Chinese holidays. Polyester prices have more sharply increased in the past 12 months in Pakistan than in China, due to the sharp rise of the renminbi in Pak rupee terms allowing domestic producers to significantly raise their prices. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) on the domestic markets in China, India, and Pakistan. Polyester filament prices in China are also released, whereas the report also include a price comparison of polyester with cotton and viscose in China, and of polyester staple fibers with intermediate prices. The gross margin of polyester spun yarn producers in China is also released.

PTA and MEG prices have continued slightly rising at the start of last week, ahead of lunar year holidays in China. Polyester intermediate prices could continue benefiting from the long-term rally of the polyester chain after the break, therefore staying very firm. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices.
