Polyester began rising in the last seven days, with demand expected to be boosted in coming period by the surge of cotton prices. The structural shift from cotton to polyester could be accelerated, as a result of a significantly larger cotton-PSF price difference. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) and Polyester Filament Yarn (PFY) prices on the domestic market, including a price comparison of polyester staple fibers with cotton and viscose. The gross margin of polyester spun yarn producers is also released.
