Polyester prices have stabilized in China, over a fall of operating rates and unchanged raw material costs, and whatever the new decline of crude oil prices to levels not seen since 2004. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) and Polyester Filament Yarn (PFY) prices on the domestic market, including a price comparison of polyester staple fibers with cotton and viscose. The gross margin of polyester spun yarn producers is also released.

Cotton fiber and yarn prices are declining, with margins of spinners also retreating, as far as 100% cotton yarns are concerned. As usual, the levels of December data strongly differ depending on countries. Our monthly report compares cotton fiber and yarn prices in China, India and Pakistan, offering a comprehensive view of the yarn/fiber spreads in the three countries. These gross margins of domestic spinners are displayed on a monthly basis with historical data back to 2007 being available for download.
