A new decline of crude oil prices could further pressure staple fiber and filament yarns, although they have lost about 50% in five years. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) and Polyester Filament Yarn (PFY) prices on the domestic market, including a price comparison of polyester staple fibers with cotton and viscose. The gross margin of polyester spun yarn producers is also released.

Polyester chain prices have begun last week retreating over a sharp decline of crude oil prices. PTA and MEG prices are not expected bottoming out in the coming period. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Eastern Asia and in India, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Asian Contract Prices (ACPs) are also available for the PX, PTA and MEG markets in Asia, with 5-year charts and downloadable historical data.
