For our activities in ESOC, we are currently looking for a Spacecraft Operations Analyst. Tasks and Responsibilities Maintenance of spacecraft operational databases, related tools, procedures and documentation under strict configuration control Implementation and maintenance of tools needed to manipulate the S2K based databases, to create synthetic parameters and to support the data analysis tasks, as required e.g. MS EXCEL, MS ACCESS, Visual Basic, S2K Operational Language Organisation, training and operational readiness check of the spacecraft controllers assigned to the mission, in cooperation with the other Sentinels Analysts Collection of information data regarding the performance of the mission and provision of inputs for mission reports Provision of spacecraft control support in case of special operations or to cover unexpected absence of the SPACONs this task is expected to be necessary for only very limited periods of time Support the generation of operational reports based on inputs received from other FCT members Telemetry Data Consolidation and archiving Routine Mission plan generation supportchecking, as required. The Service Provider is required to be familiar with the missions for which the Service is being provided and in particular with the procedures and tools that are needed to perform the routine Spacecraft control operations. Requirements As many as possible of the following Knowledge of satellite or ground operations Experience in working in an operational environment Good experience with office automation tools, including MSEXCEL and MSACCESS use of functions, queries, macros, reports, input forms, etc. programming experience, possibly with Visual Basic andor SQL Ability to communicate fluently in English, verbally and in writing Ability to organise, coordinate and train a Spacon team Familiarity with Spacecraft simulators, ideally SimSat Familiarity with satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000 Familiarity with programmingscripting languages e.g. C, Java, JavaScript, S2K OL Experience of reporting on operational systems, including generation of data analysis reports Some knowledge with the ESOC working environment and Quality Management System QMS. Each analyst must be competent in each of the analyst roles, in order to carry out the duties of the onduty analyst. Rotation between the analyst positions during the routine operations phase may be used to increase the knowledge and flexibility of the Analyst Team. The analyst team may develop and install suitable offline tools to support the efficient execution of the operational tasks. The analyst team will be required to analyse the system operations and to prepare, test and validate procedures and guidelines. The analyst team will take part, as required, in the S3 system validation activities and simulations, and arrange for the participation of the controllers. The analyst team will conduct regular operational proficiency training and simulations with the controllers. Specific Requirements Education Master degree in engineering Aerospace preferred with strong IT and specifically database background. Experience Operations experience is strongly appreciated. Candidate should have previous exposure to satellite operations or to satellite products facilities operations. Ideally to both.
