Polyester fiber prices have further plunged in the past seven days in China, eventually returning to their initial levels before they have suddenly surged in the summer. Demand is reportedly rebounding and a price stabilization is now anticipated. The sharp fall of crude oil prices in the past days could however trigger a new decline of polyester prices. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) on the domestic markets in China, India, and Pakistan. Polyester filament prices in China are also released, whereas the report includes a price comparison of polyester with cotton and viscose in China.

Polyester spun prices have further dropped in the last seven days in China, in line with a sharp decline of polyester staple fiber prices. Margins are improving at Chinese spinning mills with demand being however depressed by the continuous fall of prices. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.
