Network Operations Controller United States Manassas, Virginia Role Description Summary As a Network Operations Controller, you will be a customerfocused professional that provides leadership and technical expertise in the support of SES customers and services. You are highly motivated, disciplined, dedicated to making a positive difference, obsessed with customer success, driven to provide an extraordinary customer experience, and willing to assist and help other team members reach their highest potential. Primary Responsibilities Key Result Areas Provide exceptional customer support Serve as the main pointofcontact and facilitate all communications between customers, vendors, internal and external fix agents necessary to resolve daytoday technical issues Provide Level I technical support Ensure all events are properly documented, escalated and reported Initiate timely technical and management escalation as required Monitor all satellite, ground and terrestrial network elements to assure mission critical traffic and customer connections are operational with minimal degradation or outages as specified in Service Level Agreements SLA Ability to gather, organize, and analyze large amounts of data with speed and accuracy as well as detect relationships and make decisions using sound methodical judgment Ability to multitask by managing, tracking, and resolving multiple issues simultaneously Competencies Customer service Oral and written communication Global cultural awareness Troubleshooting Problem solving Analytical Prioritization Decision making Flexibility Resiliency Qualifications Experience Bachelors degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or Engineering required education can be subsided for experience Proficiency in English required proficiency in other languages is highly desirable Cisco Certified Network Associate CCNA Certification preferred Fundamental knowledge of BGPMP, HSRP, OSPF, RIP, VLANs and VPNs preferred Fundamental knowledge of MPLS LDP, L2 and L3 VPN, Traffic Engineering preferred Fundamental knowledge of Multicasting IGMP, PIM, SSM preferred Fundamental knowledge of Network Management Systems EM7, HP OpenView, Nagios, Netcool, ZenOSS preferred Fundamental knowledge of satellite or wireless communication preferred Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays Whats in it for you? DNA Finland to close its terrestrial TV network

DNA is to close its VHF frequency-based terrestrial network in 2020. The company will also relinguish its terrestrial network license. DNA will be focusing on cable and broadband distribution, continuing to offer TV services throughout Finland.
UK govt, mobile operators agree proposal for Shared Rural Network

(Telecompaper) The UK Government and mobile network operators have agreed a GBP 1 billion deal to tackle poor mobile coverage in rural areas. The government said the plan for all network operators to share phone masts to improve coverage is a world first. It has been welcomed by the Country Land & Business Association (CLA), as well as all four network operators.

Dish releases new supplier call for standalone 5G broadband network

(Telecompaper) Dish Network is moving forward with its plans for what it says will be the first standalone 5G broadband network in the US. The company has released a new Request for Proposal (RFP), its third, for different elements of the 5G national network. Dish has said it wants its standalone 5G broadband to be available for at least 70 percent of the US population by June 2023, conditional on the successful merger of T-Mobile US and Sprint.
