Job Overview The tasks of the Key Person will typically include Perform the book captaincy role for the ISMS documents Support the establishment and maintenance of Interconnect Security Agreements with EUMETSAT partners Review changes to existing systems for adherence to the security policy and associated procedures Provide relevant security requirements for new programmes andor major procurements Provide security consultation to new programmes to ensure that they adhere to the security policy Organise, support and evaluate periodic internal audits or security audits performed by external entities Organise and support the provision of security related activities from an external support security service provider Organise, support and minute the activities of the Security Steering Committee Monitor security alert sites for announcements of relevant threats Identify and followup security vulnerabilities in operational system In the case of security vulnerabilities ensure that corrective actions or security controls are implemented Create and check audit trailslogs to identify security violations Establish processes and procedures to monitor secure communications over nonsecure links Coordinate the installation and configuring of packages to support prevention, detection and response to security threats Provide training to Operations and Technical support staff concerning operational security Contribute to the security awareness initiatives at organisational level Participate in technical meetings, formal reviews, and scheduling planning meetings Maintain appropriate contacts with special interest groups or other specialist security forums and professional associations shall be maintained. Specific Requirements The Key person shall have a minimum of 5 years experience in the field of Operational System Security Engineering. In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, for the specific accomplishment of the listed tasks, indepth knowledge and at least 5 years experience of the following is mandatory ISOIEC 270022005 Information technology Security techniques Code of practice for information security management Network security solutions and architectures Cisco ASA, FWSM, IPSEC VPN, TACACS, nmap The installation, maintenance and use of security related software packages e.g. Log analysis tools, antivirus tools, Intrusion Detection Systems e.g. Snort, ISMS support tools e.g. Gstool, Application vulnerability tools e.g. acunetix Experience of working and performing the tasks listed above in 247 highavailability operations environments. Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the Key Person to have experience with the following Change Management. Reporting in linein time with the schedule Activity required skills Applicants shall have the following key skills University degree or equivalent qualification in Telecommunication Engineering with experience in Network and Security Architecture Design, Operational Network Services Project Management Several years of experience and a significant industrial background in one or more of the following domains communications, security design, specification and procurement of services from the market, secure operations, telecommunication systems design including substantial experience in Earth Observation missions ground segment engineering. Good understanding of networks and services WAN, LAN, email, name server applications, etc., security architectures e.g. virtual private networks, strongauthentication mechanisms, intrusion detection and prevention, content inspection, firewall, familiarity with the latest generation of network and security methodology and technologies and knowledge of the research and education networks. Familiarity with most relevant security standards, including ISO27000 and Common criteria. Team working and proactive attitude to solving problems Relevant security or networking certifications for the scope of work package. Cisco certifications CCNA, CCDA, CCIE, CCNP are considered an asset.
