For Astrium in Friedrichshafen within the area Data Processing OnBoard Software FDHOTN for the department Software Management System Engineering Support we are looking for a System Engineer fm RAMS. RAMS Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety and FDIR Failure Detection Isolation and Recovery analyses are key engineering activities supporting all projects as part of the Central Engineering Unit within Astrium Satellites. The objective being to support the designs definition so that the products delivered by Astrium satellite are dependable and safe as required by legal and regulatory requirements, customers specifications and Astrium Satellites policy. The RAMS Engineers principal role is to analyse designs, to quantify the results in reliability terms and to recommend improvements as necessary to fulfil requirements. He shall also support the projects for optimizing the failure management wrt missions requirements. The successful applicant will have particular involvement in the following Performing all required Project RAMS analyses Functional analysis, Risk analysis, Reliability Availability and Maintainability Analysis, FMECA Failure Modes Effect and Criticality Analysis, FTA Fault Tree Analysis, etc. Performing all required Project Safety activities Safety assessments, production of Hazardous Item Lists, Product Liability process support, Safety Submission process support etc. Performing tradeoffs and redundancy optimisation studies Supporting FDIR definition Performing HSIA Hardware Software Interaction Analysis, define the FDIR concept, monitoring and recovery actions Providing RAMS data package for reviews and interfacing with customer Supporting the monitoring and control of equipment or subsystems subcontractors for equipments or subsystems on RAMS aspects We are looking for candidates with the following skills Degree in a space engineering related technical discipline Electronics, Electrical, Thermal, Mechanical, Operations, Software Knowledge of the RAMS and FDIR engineering processes methods and tools Relevant work experience in the SpaceAerospace engineering domains English and German negotiation level Good analyses, communication presentation skills Resultoriented, proactive and autonomous working style TO APPLY click here

The Avionics System Engineer is responsible for the specification of the OBDH and Power subsystem of the satellite and oversee their design, development and verification processes. Tasks and Responsibilities ESAs Payloads and Platforms Division HSOUP, within the ISS Utilisation and Astronaut Support Department, and the ISS Resources and Utilisation Infrastructure Division HSOIF, within the ISS Exploitation and Exploration Department, have the responsibility for the full development activities for all ISS research payloads, as well as the evolution of existing ISS payloads and supports the subsequent operational phase of those ISS payloads. The current position is to join the system engineering team to support the Biolab Experiment Containers payload developments phase CD for experiments such as CellRad, Triplelux, Cytoskeleton, ArtEMISS. The company is responsible for supporting ESA in System Engineering for these life science payloads. The work will be performed in our offices in The Netherlands, close to ESTEC. The position will include the following tasks and responsibilities Providing system engineering support to ESAs technical officer for the development activities and testing of selected payloads. Elaborating and proposing corrective actions and solutions for identified technical problems in payload development projects. Supporting the definition of the payload baseline from the definition of requirements up to and including the end item definition. Supporting the technical officer in defining and implementing the functional requirements. Overseeing and coordinating AIT activities and interface verification. Supporting the organisation and conduct of reviews in the project life cycle. Supporting feasibility studies and payload assessments. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a University degree in an engineering discipline or in physics. Candidates are required to have following skills Knowledge of the ISS environment for scientific payloads. Knowledge of ISS boundary conditions and product assurance and safety procedures. Experience in the science payload space flight domain and at the least one of the following fields biological mechanicaI electrical electronic thermal software safety engineering. Knowledge of the requirements definition process for scientific payloads. Management of external hardware software interfaces for payloads definition, control, verification. Experience in managing payload development projects and in defining requirements linked to the individual phases of the project. Experience in organisation of technical reviews for development projects. Ability to work independently. Experience in interfacing with industry, ESANASA PSRP Payload Safety Review Panel, academia and national and international organisations, would be an advantage. Projects will include subsystem of satellite platforms e.g. instruments, Avionics etc. Also, requirements engineering, interface engineering and analysis, data handling and EEE Components selection. The candidate should have a degree in Electronics a suitable qualification, Communications, Electrical and be familiar with design methodologies, application analysis etc and be experienced in the use of PSpice, MathCad, Matlab and Modelsim. Also CAE DxDesigner. The candidate should be a good team player and be able to work on a number of projects simultaneously and under pressure. A minimum of 5 years experience required.
