Fibre continues to add share in Portugal in 3Q 2015

According to Portugals Autoridade Nacional de Comunicaçes (ANACOM), there were 3.473 million subscribers to subscription TV in the country at the end of the third quarter of 2015, 42,000 more than in the previous quarter, with fibre adding 45,500 during the period.

TIM launches 100 Mbps fibre offer, 300 Mbps in Milan

(Telecompaper) TIM (Telecom Italia) has announced the launch of a new fibre-based offer with speeds of up to 300 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload in connected parts of Italy. The new plan, dubbed TIM Smart Fibra, will be available on 01 December throughout the country at speeds of up to 100 Mbps via the operator's FTTC network, with residents in parts of Milan able to connect at 300 Mbps via FTTH technology. TIM Smart Fibra costs EUR 29 per month for the first year and EUR 39 thereafter for new customers. Existing subscribers to TIM Smart mobile plus unlimited landline calls offers in connected areas will be automatically upgraded at no additional cost.

Structural Engineer Carbon fibre Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a midsized European company specializing in manufacture and integration of spacecraft structures, including multilayer insulation and composite structures. As part of the team, you will have the following responsibilities The candidate will substantially be involved in space flight hardware projects as well as in technology development projects in the area of CFRP structures for reflector antennas, lightweight structures, deployable structures, electronic housings, radiators and new materials. Development of CFRP structure concepts for space applications Development of CFRP products for the terrestrial market Inspection of CFRP parts and subassembly Subcontractor and supplier coordination for metallic parts manufacturing and coating Development of new CFRP related technology Identification of various suitable materials Test campaigns including definition of sample tests, selection of most suitable test institute, control progress of tests performed externally. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Masters degree in mechanicalaerospace engineering, material or physics Strong technical background CFRP materials fibre materials, resin systems, processes Fluency in both German and English.
