Software Development Engineer for Satellite Ground Segments Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Software Developing Team, you will have the following responsibilities Implementation of test software for integration and systemtests Implementation of supporting test tools, e.g. test data generators Creation compilation of data sets for testing JSON, XML, binary, tele commands, telemetry data Extension of test procedures and manuals Transfer of test into a test management tool Inclusion of software in automation of test processes testing and Deployment Preparation and conduction of regression tests Junit, CppUnit or similar, Arquillian Support and performing of integration tests on different levels Recording and isolation of errors recording into a bugtracker Support and further development of deployment strategy and its automation Support setup of integration environments. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in Informatics or Engineering Experience in the field of satellite ground segments mission planning, workflow management Java 8 and Java EE 7 mandatory Knowledge of shell scripting in Linux and scripting languages mandatory, e.g. Python Knowledge of test frameworks like JUnit, Arquillian Knowledge in RESTful architectures and web technologies Knowledge in development environments and tools like NetBeans, GIT, Jenkins, Gradle, Stash, Jira IT security would be an asset Fluency in English, German would be an asset. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge base in Ground Station requirements, design, operations and maintenance. The candidate is also required to have a good understanding of Ground Stations Monitoring and Control, satellite operations and experience in managing a service level agreement with Ground Station providers. The NOC is responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line support to the ESA space missions and its users.
