Ground Systems Operations Engineer 1813017 Job Description We are looking for a Ground Systems Operations Engineer to support our client EUMETSAT. You would will be working within the System Engineering and Projects SEP Division supporting system engineering activities for Operational systems. You will be a member of a multidisciplinary system engineering team interacting with operational programmes and future programmes and will support the SEP Division with the following activities Supporting the specification of Ground Segment components. Supporting the consolidation, evolution and maintenance of the Ground Segment reference architecture. This includes Requirements engineering, including requirements analysis and validation, requirements allocation, tracing and requirements change control Functional analysis and architectureinterface design applying system modelling engineering methods and techniques. System analyses, performed for the purpose of resolving requirements conflicts, decomposing and allocating requirements, assessing system effectiveness. Tradeoff studies for assessing effectiveness, risk, cost and planning for the implementation of changes requested by operations users and customers. Supporting the assessment of impacts to the Ground Segment of changes required for operational systems, resulting from evolution and maintenance activities. This includes Analysing engineering change requests on the operational ground segments Supporting the investigation of anomalies on the ground segment, including the endtoend view and understanding of the systems Coordinating with different teams in order to assess the impact of the requested changes Attending daily operationrelated meetings in order to remain uptodate with the progress of the activities Updating and maintaining related documentation. Required Skills and Experience University degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline. At least 5 years demonstrated experience in the field of systems engineering and architectural design, maintenance and operations of ground segment systems. Knowledge of the systems making up a ground segment, their interrelations, interactions and understand the implications that making changes in one system have on others. Extensive experience in the analysis of systems applications and modelling. Space and Ground System engineering processes, System and Software lifecycles and standards. Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering methods, techniques and tools. Desirable Skills and Experience Familiarity with formal architecture frameworks e.g., MODAF, TOGAF, DODAF will be a valuable appreciated asset. Definition, management and traceability of requirements with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS. You shall be able to fulfill the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple parallel tasks. You shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communications skills verbal and written are important. You shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. You shall have good interpersonal skills and proactive attitude with strong ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
