Galileo Ground Segment Operations Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Ground Operations Team, you will be responsible for the overall management of Galileo GCS GCCD and GCCI sites and have the following responsibilities Preparesupportexecute system, segment and element operation validation activities, including the definition of validation scenarios, plans or test cases and the procedure development and validation, testing, result reporting Developreviewupdate Operations Plans and Operations Concept documents Ensuresupport databases preparation, coordination, synchronization and verification Preparation of SCTC and simulation Assist with the planning and coordination of GCS maintenance activities across both sites and GMS backup activities at GCCD Provide planning inputs and execution feedback for Ground Operations activities Monitor performance of grounds services and trigger corrective actions Handle incidents and anomalies writing, processing, and support of review boards. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Experience in ground system operations engineering and execution, ILS or Maintenance Knowledge of navigation ground segment such as Egnos or Galileo Comfortable using Linux Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Main responsibilities The candidate will ensure support to the EGNOS V2V3 Deployment Activities coordination which includes supervision of site activities for V3 RIMS sites, NLES sites, MCC sites, OCC site and for V242 several new RIMS sites integration plus existing RIMS sites upgrades and other EGNOS site upgrades justified by EGNOS equipment HW obsolescence resolution, in order to maintain EGNOS infrastructure and improve the EGNOS service coverage at the current footprint boundary The candidate will cover all phases of the deployment, from site inspection and evaluation to final acceptance of the installation. Ideal candidate For Range Integrity Monitoring Stations RIMS, Navigation Land Earth Station NLES, EGNOS Master Control Centre MCC and Operations Coordination Center OCC deployment, oncall is not required. The candidate shall work at the deployment locations, and part at external sites as requested by the EGNOS project and be prepared to travel frequently to remote sites. The candidate should have a very good knowledge of RF environment and its impact on GNSS reference station performance and demonstrated experience with RF survey equipment and in RIMSNLES RF environment characterization andor monitoring have a very good knowledge of GNSS signal processing, GNSS signal vulnerabilities have demonstrated a minimum of practical experience in hosting GNSSGPS reference or uplink stations of 5 years have relevant experience or a good knowledge of EGNOS Control and Operations centres organization and hosted EGNOS equipment , in particular of EGNOS Control Facility CCF, EGNOS Central Processing Facilities CPF and EGNOS support facilities SF have relevant experience or a good understanding of EGNOS Assembly, Integration and Verification AIV activities, in particular of EGNOS on site testing have very good communication and negotiation skills have a good teamworking spirit.
