Main responsibilities You will be performing the following tasks Management Support to the PDGS Project Manager for Preparation of the PDGS management documentation Project Management Plan, Configuration Management Plan, etc. Preparation of the PDGS contractual documentation PDGS subSystems SoWs Coordination of PDGS Reviews Implementation of managerial processes e.g. Configuration Management, Risk Managements, etc. Coordination of all PDGS activities within the PDGS team and with external teams e.g. FOS, Project, industry, etc. PDGS reporting Management of industry in charge of PDGS subsystems development. PDGS specification through the generation of the PDGS specification Documents PDGS System Requirements Document, PDGS System Architecture Document, PDGS Operations Concept Document, Interface Control Documents, SubSystems High Level Requirements Coordination of the acceptance by the PDGS Project of PDGS external CFIs Generation of technical notes whenever needed during the Project lifetime Operations of the various supporting tools e.g. Documentation Management System Participation to Space, Ground Segment and PDGS reviews organised either by ESA or by Industry Support the PDGS Project Manager in evaluating the results of the PDGS Integration and Validation activity Support for the Ground Segment Overall Validation Support for the management of the operators training and preparation of operational documentation Definition and documentation of the PDGS Commissioning Implementation Plan Support the PDGS Project Manager in the preparation of the launch and the implementation of rehearsal activities Support the PDGS Project Manager in the management of PDGS Operations, system behaviour monitoring and reporting during commissioning Adhoc development of tools for the accomplishment of the PDGS engineering, testing and validation, etc. You may be required to travel on mission onbehalf of the Agency from 2 to 12 missions per year may be required depending on the project phase. Ideal candidate Requirements You should bring a University degree or equivalent qualification, preferably engineer or in Remote Sensing, at least 10 years of working experience and the following Project management experience, preferably in the field of Earth Observation Ground Segment Development Experience on ground segments implementation, in particular on Analysis and definition of PDGS system requirements Design of PDGS system Development of Payload Data Ground Segments subsystems Definition and execution of system integration, verification and validation activities Analysis and estimation of system performances System and Software anomalies management reporting, analysis, classification and resolution. Knowledge of SAR principles and technique and experience with Instruments Processors development Knowledge of the ECSS standards and, as an asset, documentation and configuration control management techniques. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Ensuring the engineering, development, deployment, verification and validation of Galileo Operability Chain functions MUCF, MSF, VTP, GACF in the areas of monitoring control of Galileo assets, archiving, realtime and offline mission monitoring, mission uplink and control, mission support, training and maintenance. Assessment of the overall GMS operability and integrated logistic support ILS aspects of the GMS functions including the verification of the related operational procedures.
