Galileo Ground Operations Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a German organization operating space flight missions and is aleading European operations institution.You will have the following responsibilities Ground Operations Procedures GOP preparation and update Definition of operations validation scenarios GOP validation, testing, result reporting Preparation of and participation in System Validation Tests and simulations Participation in and provision of training Anomaly Reports handling and support of review boards Support of routine, special contingency ground operations incl. shift and oncall Provision of oncall service for the assigned subsystems during routine phase Offline analysis of the subsystem performance Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in a relevant discipline Experience in Ground Operations for space missions Experience in Operations Procedure Preparation and Validation Security clearance would be an asset Ability to work independently as well as good communication skills Fluency in English is mandatory German would be an asset This job is located in Munich. Each launch will comprise a minimum of 2 spacecraft and possibly up to 4. While the two first pair of Galileo Satellites had been launched IOV1 and IOV2, the holder of this post will support the upcoming IOC1 LEOP support from ESOC and IOC2 LEOP support from CNES plus the follow on missions. The working language across the team is English. During the remaining time periods, the post holder will be assigned work as GOE for other missions, specifically in the area of launcher tracking. This position might require to be on mission away from ESOC for extended period.
