Cotton yarn prices could further drop in the coming period in India, as demand is reportedly weak from domestic and foreign processors. The rebound of the rupee has depressed the cotton yarn exports, as reflected by September data. Spun yarn prices have continued slightly declining in the last seven days in China. The stabilization of fiber prices should however result in lower margins at spinning mills, with operating rates expected to be further reduced. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam.
