Cotton yarn prices have continued rising in the last seven days in Pakistan, over anticipations of higher prices in the short term and amid low inventory levels at spinning mills. Cotton and polyester fiber prices are no more rising, however, and demand from foreign markets is now depressed. Our weekly review offers a comprehensive picture of the domestic and export yarn markets in Pakistan, with cotton yarns, polyester-cotton, polyester-viscose, polyester spun and viscose spun prices being covered. All these weekly data are available for download over a 12-month period.

China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)

Cotton and spun polyester yarn prices have slightly risen in the last seven days in China, in line with the upward trend observed on cotton and PSF markets. The increase remains however very limited, as demand is reportedly depressed from yarn processors. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.

Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)

China could sharply raise its cotton imports in the next season, according to first forecast by the USDA covering 2018-19. It should be enough for supporting cotton prices at currently high levels, given the new jump of cotton imports from Vietnam and Bangladesh, and whatever an expected rise of ending stocks outside China.
