China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)

Cotton yarn prices have begun slightly dropping in China over a fall of cotton prices after they have previously rebounded. Prices could stabilize at higher levels than three weeks ago, nevertheless. Viscose fiber and yarn prices are now more clearly bottoming out. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.

Cotton futures have already plummeted in China after cotton officials have made announcements for stopping any panic buying. Cotton prices have however continued surging in India, due to strong international demand for domestic fibers and yarns.
