The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills to manage a team of engineers and subcontractors as well as knowledge in estimation of project costs both labour and material. You would be working within the System Engineering and Projects Division supporting system engineering activities for Operational systems. You will be a member of a multidisciplinary system engineering team interacting with operational programmes and future programmes and will support the SEP Division with the following activities Supporting the consolidation, evolution and maintenance of the Ground Segment reference architecture. Supporting the assessment of impacts to the Ground Segment of changes required for operational systems, resulting from evolution and maintenance activities. This includes analysing engineering change requests on the operational ground segments supporting the investigation of anomalies on the ground segment, thanks to the endtoend view and understanding of the systems coordinating with different teams in order to assess the impact of the requested changes attending daily operationrelated meetings in order to remain uptodate with the progress of the activities. Ground Stations Operations Engineer 1613129 Job Description We are looking for a Ground Stations Operations Engineer to support the Ground Stations and External Interfaces GSEI team and shall support the daily operations of the Ground Stations and their interfaces to the other components of the ground segments to ensure their maximum availability and reliability. This role will focus on the ground stations supporting EUMETSATs geostationary GEO satellites MTP, MSG and MTG but the engineer will also be expected to support the low earth orbit LEO stations when required. You will additionally be expected to acquire and maintain Systemwide knowledge of the Ground Segments, particularly in the areas of spacecraft monitoring control and the flow of mission data, due to the central role the ground station plays in spacecraft and ground segment operations. Your tasks will include Longterm planning and shortterm scheduling of the operational usage of the ground stations to support both the needs of the Flight Operations Division FLO and Ground Stations engineering team Interface with project teams for the implementation of system upgrades to support major operations projects and major activities described in the Operational System MidTerm Evolution Plan. This will include ground station changes required to support major space segment evolutions Interfacing with the ground stations maintenance teams and industry representatives to ensure optimised performance by the ground stations, including participating in the definition, specification and implementation of any changes Planning and coordination of upgrades, repairs and evolutions with the engineering teams and FLO division Organising the validation of these upgrades, repairs and evolutions with the Controller Teams Definition and maintenance of ground station operations procedures and operations guides Maintaining operational ground stations databases Investigation into anomalies, their documentation, classification and correctionmitigation, participation in associated Anomaly Review Boards Provision of training, through production and presentation of written materials, practical demonstrations and presentations, to other members of the Operations Department You will be required to provide on call support as part of a team of ground station engineers.
