One of our Space Clients in Germany is looking for a LEO Spacecraft Operations Engineer. This is a Consultancy Support position. The role would ideally suit a contractor looking for a long term consultancy role within the space industry. The submission deadline for applicants is August 24th 2015. Key Tasks To participate in coordinating the satellite operations activities of other team members and external teams responsible for onboard software management, simulator support, mission control, mission planning, flight dynamics and ground stations. To support system and operations preparation activities, particularly with respect to AOCS related activities. Support to the routine operations of Metop A, B and preparing for MetopC, comprising Provision of operational expertise to the Attitude and Orbit Control System in particular, with support to other platform subsystems andor payload instruments andor onboard software management, satellite simulator and ground segment operations interfaces. Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures, including the update and operational validation of procedures releases in a configuration controlled environment. Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments, including definition and possibly prototyping of additional analysis checks where necessary. Investigations into satellite anomalies. This may require a close cooperation with the Operations Support Entity. Support the coordination of partner agency interactions for relevant subsystemsinstruments. Participation in the satellite oncall support rota. Identification and support to implementation of system and process improvements concerning the Metop Spacecraft Operations Team responsibilities and interfaces. Support to the system and operations preparation of Metop Second Generation satellites Provide inputs and or review the definition of system and satellite operational concepts. Review space to ground interface specifications and flight operations manuals. Support the definition of tools and processes required to prepare for and operate the satellites. Knowledge Skills Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following mandatory skills, with a particular emphasis on ThreeAxis Stabilised Attitude and Orbit Control Systems Spacecraft monitor and control operations. Spacecraft operations preparation engineering. Low Earth Orbit spacecraft design or Assembly Integration and Test activities at system or subsystem level. Experience with some of the following would be advantageous Inorbit operations of Low Earth Orbit Earth Observation satellites. Experience in the operation or development of satellite ground segment facilities, in particular procedure development, monitor and control, mission planning, onboard software management, performance analysis, configuration management and simulator facilities. The procedure development tool MOIS and the procedure execution language STOL. The mission control systems EPOCH or SCOS. Specification of system and operational concepts, facility requirements. Familiarity with OnBoard Control Procedure and OnBoard Position Scheduler concepts. Familiarity with the ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard, customisation and usage. Familiarity with system change control and configuration management procedures. Data analysis software packages such as MATLAB. File parsing languages such as PERL, AWK. Use of VBA for development of adhoc tools in MS Office applications. Good written and verbal English skills are essential. Qualifications University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

LEO Spacecraft Operations Engineer 1513069 Job Description We are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to support our client EUMETSAT, working in the Operations and Services to Users Department as a member of the Metop Spacecraft Operations Team. You shall be primarily assigned to the Metop Attitude and Orbit Control System AOCS operations and trained to provide operations expertise and support to further platform subsystems and or payload instruments, depending on your experience and the overall team needs. You shall also participate in coordinating the satellite operations activities of other team members and external teams responsible for onboard software management, simulator support, mission control, mission planning, flight dynamics and ground stations. Furthermore, you shall support system and operations preparation activities for MetopC, for Metop Second Generation satellites and possibly also for Sentinel6, particularly with respect to AOCS related activities. You shall be required to support operations during normal working hours, as well as support the oncall operations engineer rota, such that safe and efficient operations are ensured by the Spacecraft Operations Team on a 247 basis. Your tasks will typically include Support to the routine operations of Metop A, B and preparing for MetopC, comprising Provision of operational expertise to the Attitude and Orbit Control System in particular, with support to other platform subsystems andor payload instruments andor onboard software management, satellite simulator and ground segment operations interfaces. Mission Control Operations Engineer 1513067 Job Description We are looking for a Mission Control Operations Engineer to provide support to the system development and operations preparation of the MTG Mission Operations Facility performed within GEO division. Required Skills and Experience In addition to having a university degree or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline, you shall have the following mandatory attributes at least five years experience in the operations preparation and routine operations of spacecraft mission control systems for Geostationary GEO andor Low Earth Orbit LEO satellite systems at least five years experience defining and implementing the verification and validation of spacecraft mission control systems at least three years experience operating a spacecraft mission control system based on SCOS2000 at least three years experience with the application of ECSS and CCSDS standards for spacetoground interfaces, Satellite Monitoring Control Systems Packet Telemetry and Telecommand standards, PUS Packet Utilisation Standard, etc. Desirable Skills and Experience extensive experience at least three years in the use of databases and SQLrelated querying in relation to spacecraft mission control systems experience at least two years of using configuration management systems such as CVS and or GIT experience at least two years of using satellite simulators familiarity with flight dynamics and mission planning functions and systems as applied to satellite operations familiarity with EPOCH IPS MC product suite from Integral Systems now Kratos Linux operating system leading a small team of engineers.
