We are currently looking for a System Operations Engineer to support our customer in Germany. System Operations Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the RealTime Services and System Operations, you will have the following responsibilities support to system operations in a realtime operations environment endtoend operations monitoring user messaging systems configuration and operation configuration of event monitoring and endtoend monitoring systems monitoring infrastructure configuration and operation definition and maintenance of system operations procedures, including System and ground segment procedures and operations guides liaison with the spacecraft operations team, the ground segment facility operations teams and system operations analysts to ensure the continuity and optimisation of spacecraft monitoring and control activities interface with the systems maintenance teams and industry representatives to ensure optimised performance provision of standbyoncall support as system operations engineer, on an as needed basis provision of support, as required, to critical operations Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience experience of endtoend system operations, in a realtime spacecraft operations environment as well as in the operation of mission monitoring systems experience in the definition, development, integration and acceptance testing of mission data monitoring systems work experience defining and implementing the verification and validation of ground segment systems Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. TASKS The Key Person shall provide support to the mission performance of the MSG Ground Segment and the EPS Overall Ground System and their evolution, as well as to the future programmes of our client. Main duties will include the support to System operations in a realtime operations environment Endtoend operations monitoring User messaging systems configuration and operation Configuration of event monitoring and endtoend monitoring systems Monitoring infrastructure configuration and operation Multimission element and infrastructure operations Mission Performance System Evolutions for existing and new programmes. The Key Person will perform the following routine operations tasks Definition and maintenance of system operations procedures, including System and ground segment procedures and operations guides Liaison with the spacecraft operations team to ensure the continuity and optimisation of spacecraft monitoring and control activities Liaison with the ground segment facility operations teams and system operations analysts to ensure the continuity and optimisation of ground segment and mission Support to the definition of the Operations Service Specification Interface with the systems maintenance teams and industry representatives to ensure optimised performance, including participating in the definition and implementation of any changes to the mission performance systems Provision of support to operational ground segment analyses Provision of standbyoncall support as system operations engineer, on an as needed basis Processing of mission performance related system anomalies, their documentation, investigation, classification and resolutionmitigation, including participation in Anomaly Review Boards Participation in technical meetings, formal reviews, and scheduling and planning meetings Processing of system modifications, including their documentation, approval, and implementation, including participation in Change Review Boards Support to, and participation in, the functional verification and operational validation of mission performance system upgrades and evolutions, both standalone and in the context of an overall ground segment Liaison with various department and divisions within our client facilities Provision of training, through written materials, practical demonstrations and presentations, to other members of the Operations Team. PROFILE The Key Person shall have University degree in a relevant technical discipline, science, or equivalent At least 5 years experienceof endtoend system operations in a realtime spacecraft operations environment At least 3 years work experiencein the operation of mission monitoring systems At least 3 years experiencein the definition, development, integration and acceptance testing of mission data monitoring systems At least 3 years work experiencedefining and implementing the verification and validation of ground segment systems Fluency in English. Recent experience of the following, in an operational context, would be a distinct advantage Experience at least 3 years in the operations preparation and routine operations of Geostationary GEO and Low Earth Orbit LEO satellite systems Experience of configuration and monitoring using NAGIOS Experience with the definition and analysis of operational user requirements Experience of using configuration management systems such as CVS Familiarity with ECSS and CCSDS standards related to spacetoground interfaces and applicable to Satellite Monitoring Control Systems Packet Telemetry and Telecommand standards, PUS Packet Utilisation Standard, etc. Windows Unix Linux operating systems.
