System Operations Engineer Mission Performance Team

For the location in Darmstadt, Germany we are looking for a System Operations Engineer on the Mission Performance Team at EUMETSAT. Tasks Within the Operations Department, the RealTime Services and System Operations RSO Division is responsible for the endtoend system and mission operations, including ground stations, data and product processing, communications, and dissemination of the data and products to users. RSO also supports the Flight Operations Division FLO in space System flight operations, as well as mission analysis and mission control. As a member of RSO, the Key Person shall provide support to the mission performance of the MSG Ground Segment and the EPS Overall Ground System OGS, as well as their evolution, as well as to the future programmes. Main duties will include the support to System operations in a realtime operations environment Endtoend operations monitoring User messaging systems configuration and operation Configuration of event monitoring and endtoend monitoring systems Monitoring infrastructure configuration and operation Multimission element and infrastructure operations Mission Performance System Evolutions for existing and new programmes The role comprises a range of tasks including the provision of support to the Routine operation of the LEO GEO ground segments, as well as their evolution to include new programmes and system operations. The Key Person will be responsible for the definition andor maintenance of the Routine operations procedures pertaining to mission performance operations and the interfaces of the key systems within the ground segment, in accordance with the established EUMETSAT Operations Department configuration management and quality assurance practices. As part of the operations evolution, the key person will be responsible for the redesign and evolution of the mission performance systems to support existing and new programmes. The Key Person will acquire and maintain a Systemwide view of the MSG System, and the EPS CGS and OGS, particularly in the areas of system endtoend monitoring control and data flows. The Key Person will review any planned changes to the mission performance System configurations for LEO and GEO ground segments, and support the investigation of anomalies encountered through the routine system and ground segment operations. The Key Person will provide support to the development and operations preparation for recurrent satellites in existing operational programs e.g. MetopC and MSG4, and for future operational programs now in development including Sentinel3, MTG and EPSSG. The key person will interface with project teams on the implementation of system upgrades to support major operations projects, including System MidTerm Evolution Plan, recurrent satellites, and any system hardware and operating system obsolescence upgrade. The Key Person will perform the following routine operations tasks Definition and maintenance of system operations procedures, including System and ground segment procedures and operations guides Liaison with the spacecraft operations team to ensure the continuity and optimisation of spacecraft monitoring and control activities Liaison with the ground segment facility operations teams and system operations analysts to ensure the continuity and optimisation of ground segment and Mission operations through procedure and operations guide updates, configuration changes, database or user interface changes etc. Support to the definition of the Operations Service Specification Interface with the systems maintenance teams and industry representatives to ensure optimised performance, including participating in the definition and implementation of any changes to the mission performance systems Provision of support to operational ground segment analyses Provision of standbyoncall support as system operations engineer, on an as needed basis. This will be coordinated through the normal oncall process Provision of support, as required, to critical operations Processing of mission performance related system anomalies, their documentation, investigation, classification and resolutionmitigation, including participation in Anomaly Review Boards Participation in technical meetings, formal reviews, and scheduling and planning meetings Processing of system modifications, including their documentation, approval, and implementation, including participation in Change Review Boards Support to, and participation in, the functional verification and operational validation of mission performance system upgrades and evolutions, both standalone and in the context of an overall ground segment Liaison with various department and divisions within EUMETSAT CM, QA, Management, Product Experts, User Services Provision of training, through written materials, practical demonstrations and presentations, to other members of the Operations Team. Essential requirements In addition to having a university degree or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline, the Key Person shall have the following mandatory attributes At least five years experience of endtoend system operations in a realtime spacecraft operations environment At least three years work experience in the operation of mission monitoring systems At least 3 years experience in the definition, development, integration and acceptance testing of mission data monitoring systems At least three years work experience defining and implementing the verification and validation of ground segment systems. Recent experience of the following, in an operational context, would be a distinct advantage Experience at least three years in the operations preparation and routine operations of Geostationary GEO and Low Earth Orbit LEO satellite systems Experience of configuration and monitoring using NAGIOS Experience with the definition and analysis of operational user requirements Experience of using configuration management systems such as CVS Familiarity with ECSS and CCSDS standards related to spacetoground interfaces and applicable to Satellite Monitoring Control Systems Packet Telemetry and Telecommand standards, PUS Packet Utilisation Standard, etc. Windows Unix Linux operating systems. Other Information Start date is 1st June 2015 Fluency in English is mandatory. Candidates must be an EU Citizen or have valid working permit to work in Germany. Operations Engineer for Telecommunication Satellites

One of our clients is looking for an Operations Engineer to join their team in Germany. Tasks Validation of Flight Procedures in a telecommunication satellite project. Support in testing and debugging of Flight Procedures. Support in the compilation or revision of the Spacecraft Operation Handbook. Support in the preparation and execution of operations development tests, e.g. Mission Simulation Test, System Validation Tests. Required Qualifications Experience with satellite operations or tests. Professional experience in developing flight procedures in industry. Familiarity with TOPETCL. Familiarity with the Test Sequence Environment TSE. Basic knowledge of satellite design, system and subsystem, and operations procedures Ability to follow procedures, making amendments where necessary, accurate recording of results Routine in producing test reports. Capability of working independently and with a great deal of flexibility, as well as in a team environment. Fluency in spoken and written English An Asset would be Knowledge of SGEO platform design and of the SVFDSSS.

(Telecompaper) Mobile towers operator Crown Castle announced it's considering a sale of its Australian subsidiary, after receiving unsolicited offers for the company. US-based Crown Castle owns 77.6 percent of CCAL, the largest independent tower operator in Australia. It entered the Australian market in 2000, acquiring towers first from Optus and later from Vodafone and Hutchison. The Australian company contributes around 4-5 percent of Crown Castle's estimated annual EBITDA.
