Moreover, we actively manage your professional development, training and career progression. For the location in Darmstadt, Germany we are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer at ESOC. Tasks The position is for Spacecraft Operations Engineering services primarily assigned to Lisa Pathfinder, but with the possibility of supporting other missions within the Astronomical Missions Division. The general tasks will include Standard Spacecraft Operations Engineering support, but with a focus on Flight Procedure Validation, Mission Planning and Payload Operations. Provision of independent procedure validation of the Flight Operations Procedures, conducted on the Lisa Pathfinder Mission Control Sysytem and Simulator. Payload operations preparation, validation and execution, including mission planning and commissioning plan and timeline. General SOE service provision during the LEOP preparation and execution when the payloads are not active. Essential requirements The essential requirements are Spacecraft knowledge on a subsystem level, particularly of Payloads. Expertise in operational environments Understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems. Control Theory. Fluency in English. Ability to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel, and across multidomains Familiarity with operational training Familiarity with operational simulators, ideally SimSat Familiarity with satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000 Familiarity with Operational Payloads It would be considered an advantage to have the following Knowledge of satellite or ground operations, or nonspace operational environments Mission Planning expertise Power Thermal expertise Understanding of Commissioning campaigns for Satellite Payloads. For our activities in ESOC, we are currently seeking a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to participate in the ExoMars mission as a member of the Flight Control Team FCT during the preparatory phases, LEOP and following routine activities. Tasks The primary areas of responsibility for this position are theTTC, communications and Data Relaysubsystems and the preparation, validation and maintenance of the internal and external interfaces for Mars data relay operations.The candidate may be also requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional subsystems or systems as defined by the SOM or Division Head. Tasks The activities for this position will cover Operation Preparation definition and coordination tasks focusing System Operation aspects. The tasks and responsibilities of the key person will typically include the following Lead end to end Operation Preparation activities when external entities and partners are involved, in coordination with relevant existing operational interfaces managed in OPS. Deputise System Ops Team Leader in charge of the Ground and System Operation Team. Manage and Coordinate Joint Operation Plans and Operations Interface Control Documents. Support OPS Team leaders in managing the development and validation of end to end System Operation Procedures and Timelines which cover Operations related to Databases, On Board Software and System routinecontingency scenarios. Lead System Timeline procedures definition. Coordinate with OPS team leaders to ensure compliance with existing OPS workflows and processes as per Operations Management Plan OMP. In coordination with OPS teams, contribute to the Reference Operations Plan and ensure coherency with mission concepts. Define SSVT Specification and Organisation Plan and coordinate all SSVT test plans with Satellite and System teams. Define Operations Validation Plan and ensure technical coordination for the related future activities. Ensure coherency and homogeneity of all delivery mechanism to Ops Prep and future Operational usages. Coordinate with OPS the MMI definition and control room layout organisation Ensure focal point of contact for coordination with VV team. Coordinate communication within Ops Prep team ensure new comer induction and reading materials. Support EPSSG System team for requirement traceability to Operations and Concepts. Qualifications and Requirements In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Key person shall have a demonstrated experience of at least five years in the field of Spacecraft Operations with specific experience as follow Expertise in space to ground interface and end to end system dataflow ensuring mission data availability to end users. Good system knowledge of the main functional elements of a ground system which are used for the monitoring and control of a satellite. Spacecraft monitor and control operations on SCOS based system. Experience in the operation or development of satellite ground segment facilities, in particular procedure development, monitor and control, mission planning, onboard software management, performance analysis, configuration management and simulator facilities. As already experienced key role in the definition and the validation of specific operation preparation phases such as SSVT, validation campaigns or rehearsals. Operation development life cycle and Operation Preparation environment such as procedure editor and databases management tools. Specification of system and operational concepts, facility requirements and external operational interfaces management. Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the Key person to have experience with some of the following Inorbit System operations of Low Earth Orbit Earth Observation satellites. Have demonstrated experience of working in a multipartner programme Good knowledge of working methods and corporate culture of EUMETSAT partners and other agencies such as ESA, LEOPService Provider, DLR, CNES and space industry. Specific Operational phases such as LEOP, SIOV, and Commissioning phases. Configuration management of operation baseline components on operational systems. System development life cycle, phases, reviews and deliverables.
