Engineer, Satcom Operations Singapore Singapore ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY As the Engineer, Satcom Operations you will be working in the Operations Services Engineering group and will be responsible for the implementation and operational support of cuttingedge global products and services. The engineer will gain a broad knowledge of the SES Networks product range as well as SES Networks global core infrastructure. The primary objective of this role is to ensure SES Networks customers are provided the highest quality service throughout their lifecycle. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULTS AREAS Support Incident Management in line with Company defined ITIL processes Configuration, testing implementation of SES Products Work efficiently as part of a Global multidisciplinary team, utilizing Follow the Sun methodology Participate in lifecycle of a customer project, Post Sales through to Customer Acceptance Liaise with customers and support the integration of SES products with their infrastructure Work with Engineering Product Development Teams and support the growth of the SES portfolio Development of technical support documentation for the Network Operations Centre Responsible for SES Networks Core infrastructure operation and enhancement Responsible for administration of monitoring tools to support customer solutions Accountable for baseband training given to the Network Operations Centre Interact with other operational groups and support coordination of projects Interact with vendors to resolve problems and bugs, perform handson testing and troubleshooting Audit and assess end to end network against customer service requirements and best practices Adhere to delivery schedules and manage time accordingly Development of internal technical support documentation and procedures Provide Level 3 support for Network Operations Centre COMPETENCIES Performance Under Pressure Dedication Resilience Selfstarter Accountability Problem Solving Collaboration Customer service Global cultural awareness QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE Minimum Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience with communications satellite systems or similar advanced technical support role Minimum 7 years of experience in the satellite or telecommunications industry Experience in developing andor maintaining satellite terminal systems Experience troubleshooting, operating, and maintaining local and remote baseband, IF, RF, antennas, and WANLAN equipment Solid working knowledge of Satellite Communications Baseband, Network Management, and Modem systems equipment Experienced in developing and maintaining high availability satellite or telecommunications systems Good understanding of GEO, MEO, and LEO satellite technologies and systems Experience with Unix Linux systems administration, scripting automation Experience of integrating communication systems with multiple vendor components Experience with physical design best practices, e.g., rack installation, cabling and management Experience of dealing directly with customers and understand how to manage expectations Working knowledge of IP routing and networking Willingness to travel internationally Whats in it for you? We are currently looking for an EDRS Mission Operations Centre MOC Operator to support our customer in Germany. Key Tasks and Responsibilities You will have the following responsibilities Supervision of system performance and of automatic service provision to customers Maintenance of actual mission planning data and the mission schedule Control and Supervision of planning processes and reporting to engineering in case of conflicts Control and Supervision of key management processes Monitoring of the health status of all EDRS components Monitoring of service infrastructure and the distributed IP Network Monitoring the use of the satellite payload Levell response to anomalies, based on procedures Data collection after anomalies Activation of engineering support if required User Help Desk first response Trouble ticket and incident management, including the generation, support and resolution of problems, for network and customer issues Routine Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul MRO. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in the field of Aerospace Engineering Experience in satellite andor ground segment operations is required Experience in the field of space and operations is required Knowledge of satellite communications, earth observation missions, as well as mission operation ground infrastructure e.g. ESOC, DLR, etc. Willingness for shift work Knowledge of Linux would be a plus Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of German or another European language is an advantage. Copernicus Data Processing Operations Engineer

We are currently looking for an experienced System Operations Engineer to join our international team of inspiring engineers and industry professionals, tasked with driving innovation within the Space, Satellite and Earth Observation sector. This role is rooted in EUMETSATs commitment to the European Unions Copernicus Earth observation programme and will provide the opportunity to work with leading IT, Space and Earth Observation organisations and domain experts and to make a positive impact on society! Background EUMETSAT operates a fleet of ten Earth Observation satellites in Low Earth and geostationary orbits including two Copernicus Sentinel3 satellites Sentinel3A and 3B and is preparing for the launch of the Copernicus Sentinel6 A Michael Freilich satellite end of 2020, and Sentinel3C in 2023. EUMETSAT also plans to exploit more Copernicus Sentinel satellites after 2025, for monitoring the ocean and CO2 in the atmosphere in support of the Paris Agreement. Reporting to the Copernicus Data Processing Team Leader, the Copernicus Data Processing Operations Engineer conducts and supports operations of the data processing and product extraction systems for Copernicus missions exploited by EUMETSAT and support the evolutions of these systems. Duties Coordinate and support operations of the Copernicus payload data processing and product extraction systems delivering Level 0 to Level 2 products, including backlogprocessing, anomaly reporting and investigations of anomalies Support the preparation and maintenance of the operational documentation operations guides, operations interface control documents, operations procedures for the Copernicus data processing systems Contribute to the performance monitoring and analysis of Copernicus data processing services, including the development of tools for monitoring the quality of products and for the production of Key Performance Indicators Support the medium and longterm operations planning for Copernicus data processing and product extraction systems Support training activities related to Copernicus data processing Contribute to the further development of EUMETSAT Copernicus payload data processing systems including the definition of operational requirements, validation of upgrades, the assessment of deliveries, and contribute to verification activities Support the operations preparations and commissioning activities for new Sentinel missions exploited by EUMETSAT e.g. Sentinel 3CD, Sentinel6B, CO2M. C C, Oracle Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems CCSDS formats Specification, development, and validation of algorithms for meteorological or other remote sensing missions The holder of this post will support 247 operations and is therefore required to provide 24 hours a day oncall support including during weekends and public holidays on a regular basis. More about us EUMETSATs role is to establish and operate meteorological satellites to monitor the weather and climate from space 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This information is supplied to the National Meteorological Services of the organisations Member and Cooperating States in Europe, as well as other users worldwide. EUMETSAT also operates several Copernicus missions on behalf of the European Union and provide data services to the Copernicus marine and atmospheric services and their users.
