Videofutur launches network PVR service on French fibre networks

(Telecompaper) Videofutur, the commercial brand of French fibre ISP Vitis, has introduced a network PVR (nPVR) service offered as part of its two new FTTH packages, named Vic and Victoria, available on a footprint of over 1.1 million households covered by public initiative networks. The launch coincides with several other announcements made by the company, on new content partnerships and additions to the product portfolio.

Facebook expands Terragraph trials, launches Magma mobile network software

(Telecompaper) Facebook has announced for MWC more new partnerships in developing network technology. In addition to expanding trials and equipment vendors working on its Terragraph 60 GHz wireless broadband system, the company announced the Magma system to help roll out mobile networks in under-served areas.

Intel launches 5G network card, sees 5G modem platform complete by year-end

(Telecompaper) Intel launched at Mobile World Congress its FPGA Programmable Acceleration Card for 5G networks. The N3000 accelerates many virtualized workloads, ranging from 5G radio access networks to core network applications, the chipmaker said. Intel also announced that Ericsson is adopting its new SoC for mobile base stations and it's working with Skyworks and gateway manufacturers on integration of its 5G modem, with the first products available for testing by year-end.
